I know I have asked many questions about this 99 Grand Am but today I discovered a crack in the reservoir (overflow) tank. The antifreeze has not gotton to low but I'm wondering could this crack be causing the car to get too hot when idle. I know the tank has to be under a certain amount of pressure. Would this crack affect that? Also, It seems that my thermostat is not opening until the car gets to around 220 degrees and then after about five minutes it will go back down to around 190 and go back up again whenever its idle. It never goes past 220. Never in the red.

I'm looking into buying a used car - I did a carfax report on it and it looks like it's been in an accident and had some work done. How much does this affect the car's performance? If I do decide to buy it, I'm going to get it checked out by my mechanic. If they say that it looks to be in good condition, is it safe to buy even with an accident history? Or should i avoid it all together?

what would cause black smoke on startup? valve guides? it's just a quick puff of smoke, but it's enough to make the ground under the exuast pipes black. any help would be great thanks

this 94 Topaz "HEEP" has a front wheel baring that I have to take to the shop, because it has to be "pressed" in there and take a torch and remove a part in there and 3 hours labor yadda yadda.....I understand there are models of cars that one can replace alot easier in your own garage. The guy at Lenzte
auto said he'd press the baring for me if I wanted to do the job, so then he quotes me 120.00 to do that.

When I try to start it nothing happens... It doesn't seem to be the battery as all lights and gadget works. Engine doesn't even try and tick over.

My bf is an idiot and crossed my jumper cables while boosting his parked car with mine. my car was running, his was not. we realized it was wrong and switched them to how they should be. His car never did start, but we assumed that because it had been parked for a few months it was because of that. About a week later while i was driving my battery just died. how much will this cost, and ist that now the reason why his car wouldnt start also?

I have a 95 Saturn SL2 manual shift, recently when coming onto an off ramp from the highway it will die (turn itsself off, what ever you want to call it) when I reach almost stopping position. I can always turn the key to off and restart the car. Why the heck is it doing that?

I am looking for an amp to go with my 10" Type E sub, I would like to keep the price down a bit, I would like to get it on ebay. Also, from what im reading, I should get a mono amp. I was wondering if say a 2 channel amp would work just as good or if I need to stay with a mono amp. Thanks

I purchased a 250cc for cheap just to learn how to ride etc. Seller said he didnt have title because bike was left as collateral to him...I planned to apply for lost title. Turns out this guy sold me title w/ lien. Tryed to hunt down bank holding lien, but bank has dissolved. Illinois DMV won't give me the original owner's info and I can't find the lienholder to settle that debt. Whats next step?

i was driving my friends car today and noticed it was overheating, so i pulled into my house and turned it off. and you could hear the water boiling and going into the overflow pretty good. so i popped the hood and was looking at it. then i turned it on and noticed that the electric fans werent working at all. and there is no manual for the car. does anybody know what fuse and realy it is so i can fix it asap.

you may think this is a dumb question but, i wouldn't ask if i already knew.
when carrying a passanger do you raise the suspension?
also what other mofifications and/or adjustments should i do to prepare my bike?

In CO it is legal to do a Right on Red. If I was turning LEFT on a ONE WAY STREET with traffic heading LEFT (So I would be turning with the flow of traffic), is it Legal to do a left on red, if a one way street?

I am looking to purchase a tahoe in the next couple of months. I have been exclusively looking at 4X4s within the 2002 to 2005 range(basically under $20,000), but I had a car salesman tell me that the 2WD tahoes come standard with traction control. Is this true? I live in an area that gets ice and snow quite a bit in the winter and I need something to get my kids to and from school, so either traction control or 4X4 is really important. I would appreciate some help clearing up this matter. Thanks in advance!!!
Oh, and how can I tell if a 2WD has trac. control? Thanks!!
