I don't know, so I'm not going to get the "Best Answer."
On the various motorcycles I've owned, none of which were a Shadow and some of which weren't a Honda, it's been hidden:
* In a metal box on the left side of the motorcycle
* In a plastic box under the seat
* In a compartment in the front fairing
* In a lockable compartment just above the brake light
* In a plastic box covered by the left side cover
So, I'd say, look under your seat, and take off the side covers, and look for easily openable black plastic boxes. You might find it.

Tool kits?! I hope you mean the jack and spare? No tool kits come with most vehicles, but the jack and spare are located in the trunk under the panel or under your back seat.
