I am looking for an amp to go with my 10" Type E sub, I would like to keep the price down a bit, I would like to get it on ebay. Also, from what im reading, I should get a mono amp. I was wondering if say a 2 channel amp would work just as good or if I need to stay with a mono amp. Thanks

If you're using just one Type E then a 2-channel amp would work as well as a mono. If you're using two Type E's or plan to add another Type E later on, then you'd be better off with a mono amp.

For a single Type E, just look for a 2-channel amp that's rated for around 200 watts at 4 ohms when bridged. These are so common that you should have no problem finding one at a good price. Usually a good 2-channel amp rated at 50-70 watts per channel RMS will provide 200 watts in bridged mode.

A 2-channel amp would work just as well, however, with only running (1) subwoofer, you will be bridging the amplifier anyways and running it mono. I would stay around 200-300 watts RMS output on any amplifier you are shopping for and can provide a link to some very good amplifiers, all brand new in the box, for cheap money.

just go any where and get you a 500 watt amp you dont need that much power to push a 10 in. speaker if you go any bigger it will make the speaker sound crappy the 500 watt will make it get the right boom and still keep it crisp
