I am hoping that my problem is only the ignition switch. Based on the symptoms, some are telling me it is.

Intermittant lights come on my dash and when they do, my radio does not come on and my horn does not work.

Does this sound like the ignition switch?

I have been bouncing around the idea of purchasing a new top for my 1991 Mazda Miata Convertible. I am however afraid that I would not be able to install this myself, has anyone done this with any convertible? It says online it's simple to do, but I have heard that before. Any tips/advise is welcomed

I bought a refridgerant kit to convert my r12 system to a 134a, then I find out that I have to have the r12 discharged by a shop. It kinda defeats the purpose of doing it myself. I want to avoid the whole go to a service station wait all day and then over pay for it, on top of here about all the parts that supposably are needed. I would rather just not have air conditioning if that is what I have to do.

when doing a malpractice suit...our attorney quoted a certain percentage. does this percentage include all the travel expenses to get depositions from other dr.'s in different states, or is this an addition to the percentage that we were quoted. this has been going on for almost 3 years. is this ever gonna end???!!!!

I have a 2003 Hyundai accent with 67000 miles on it. At about 58000 miles the car began to squeak. The squeak is there from the time I turn on the car until I turn off the car...I can't hear it when I am driving, only when I am stopped at a light. I get frequent oil changes but I have not had a routine maint. done in a long long time. When I called to get a quote for the routine maint. they said it would cost $1000 to do that because I would need to change the timing belt. I only owe $1800 on the car. This car was a starter car so I would rather trade in the car for a better more comfortable car then to put money into this car. Does anyone know why the car could be squeaking and if you think it is the timing belt. I know its not the brakes because the breaks don't squeak when I step on them.

I just bought a used car with chrome rims. They appear tarnished and have a dull bronze film on them. I assume break dust and grime. I tried some chrome polish but it didn't do much, it seems that I should clean them before I try and polish them. What is the best product to use? They are slightly pitted and I am guessing that is permanent, but would like them to look as nice as they can. Thanks in advance.

To any mechanics out there, specifically Volkswagon specialists, how do VW's today rate to VW's of fifteen years ago? Are they more cheaply made? I am looking to buy a bug, but many people have told me not to because they are peices of junk. My parents love WV and have always bought this brand, but they have had quite a few problems with the lest few.....

I have a 2001 Kawasaki zx7 engine with no spark. I am trying to use it in a mini sprint car. The engine turns over from the starter but I have no spark at the plugs. The coils & coil pick up both read good. The dealer tried a new coil and that didn't help.We do not have the starter lockout switch, neutral switch or engine stop switch connected. Any suggestions?

Thanks

It looks like healthycar.org found out that chemical particals stick to the inside car windows and that that creates a haze which in turn creates a glare at night. Especially with oncoming headlights. They actually measured it in over 200 new cars. In googling "glare" and "haze", only glare-x-plus really looked like it addressed the issue. My mechanic also said it was almost impossible to remove that haze unless you used really strong chemicals or hydrochloric acid. Stuff I used in the past only seemed to push the window film around and not really remove it. Has anyone tried glare-x-plus? It is supposed to be organic and not be harmful or smell (like vinegar, which I hate!). I also tried some baking soda but the mess was not worth it, and it did not seem to clean that well. Any ideas?
