Yes, so long as the weight of the fully loaded van is 85% (or less) of the kerb weight of the car. Most if not all four wheel drive vehicles far exceed this criterion, but an ordinary family car will tow just as well, providing the caravan/car weight ratio is observed.
The weight of the car must always be higher (the Caravan Club recommend the 85% rule) than that of the fully kitted and loaded caravan.

I t depends on the weight of the caravan. A four-wheel drive would be preferable as most standard family cars are front wheel drive therefore if you put too much weight on the back you will loose traction on the front which affect your steering as well

I believe it depends on the size of the trailer vs the size/power of the car. Your owner's manual should say what towing weight the car can handle.
