i recently got my cars upper exaust done, the honey comb thinking that it would stop the cars smoke but it just made it worse! it happens when i slow down or brake and then accelerate and the car behind me is covered in smoke.
It is very embarssing and was wondering if someone could tell me what is causing the smoke????
I've down the oil change and it is going for a tune in within a weeks time will this help????

Especially if you're an expert on vehicles. I'm interested in purchasing an SUV. I would like a "small" SUV. I know that there are smaller ones, then large ones. Some are actually considered, by the companies, to be "small" SUV's. Please list all of the small SUV's that you can think of..preferrably in order of what you would consider the BEST makes & models, as far as an all around good vehicle. I would like to have something cute (I prefer the rounded body styles, over the boxy looking ones), but also something 4wd, that would be reliable. All honest answers are appreciated, thank you!

92 Caprice will occasionally stall with no warning & will not restart immediately.
-Has new fuel pump with more than enough pressure past the filter.
-Within the past year has had ignition coil, TPS, IAC valve, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, distributor with ignition module & pick-up coil all replaced.
-Engine will run for over an hour sometimes & five minutes others before stalling. Then the engine will crank but not fire & has good spark to the plugwires but no injector pulse. However if you spray carb cleaner below the throttle plates, engine will start & injectors will begin firing again for a few minutes & will stop firing again causing another stall. Are there any GM techs who can explain to me what besides the ECM & pick-up coil controls injector pulsing? And has anyone ever encountered this before? Should I replace the ECM and if so will I need to have a GM dealer program it? or can I just swap the chip from the old one to the new ECM?

me and my friend has been working on his 1989 Dodge Omni with a 4Cyl 2.2L Motor one day he was stoped at a red light and the car just stoped runing we found out it was the timeing belt so we replace it and timed it right now #2 and #3 Cyl had no compression but #1 and #4 have good compression
why?? the motor only has 118,000 miles on it

i bought a lens cleaner hoping that it would fix the problem but it still skips, its a pioneer dehp5800mp ive had it for maybe 6 months now, it only happens when i turn the volume up loud when my subs hit. Could it be the subs causing this problem, or is the amp taking so much power from the battery that when it hits it takes power from the cd player for a split second, or do i just need a new cd player?

2002 Chrysler Town and Country Mini Van with 68,000 miles.
The engine would start to stall and shut down when I put the A/C on. The minute I shut off the A/C everything was ok. There was also a burning smell.

I was think about this. On the descovery Ch they have the cars of the future. But we have to wait! Why? I need one of those cars today. I would save so much money right now. My car is broken and it is going to cost me $1600 to get it fixed. I just cant do it cause the job i have ( dont have any more cause my cars broke) cost $2.99 per gal and thats not for premium. By the time they get around to letting me get one of these cars i will be way to old to learn the new tech.

the car has power just smokes when you push the gas, light blueish,white smoke , is 90 compression check good ? for a 4 cylinder ,motor ? the oil level is good and clean , could this be valve seals gone bad ? and how easy is this to fix?

I just got an car accident today while backing out in a parking lot. Another car was backing out and my bumper hit her passanger side door. There wasn't to much damage to my car a few scratches and a little part sticks out on my bumper. Her passanger side door has a dent size of a big circle. This was my first accident and I have a clean record for the past seven years. My insurance company is All State. My damage is probably not more than $700 and hers maybe $2000. I live in California. Does anybody know how my driving record will be affected will I receive a point??? Any info would be helpful.

I just bought a 1989 Camry and I've noticed that whenever I drive over bumps w/ the front two tires, it would make a very loud thump when the tires land, the back tires don't make this thump though.
My questions are:
1) Are the front shocks the problem here? or is it something else? How can I know for sure? Are there any tests I can do to check?

2) If the shocks need to be replaced, should I just go ahead & replace all 4 of the shocks? or just the 2 front ones?

3) Could anyone give me an estimate of how much it would cost? (I was quoted a total of $250 for replacing two front shocks)

i recently purchased a used 02 VW jetta GLS (w/alloy rims) with a pre-certified warranty from volkswagen. the car has 32,000 miles and i had the car examined extensively for problems (i.e. odometer rollback and mechanical problems) which i didnt find. have i gotten a good deal on this jetta ($12,495)? If so, what do you guys recomend for the upkeep with this car? What are the common problems associated with this vehicle, as opinions vary. I drive 60 miles a day.

My 98 BMW z3 started to overheat last night in traffic. I turned the heat on and the temp immediately went back to normal. I drove it a few hours later (in no traffic) and it was fine. I had the radiator replaced last year, but now i'm afraid to drive it to work or to the shop which is far and expensive. Is this just a fluke? Is it safe to drive for awhile until I can take it to the shop?
