I was researching online, and I found a place that has the following listing:

3.1L 189cid V6 MFI (T) : Transmission-Automatic : Kick Down Solenoid
The details were:
STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS Part # TCS20 {TRANSMISSION CONTROL SOLENOID}
Front Wheel Drive; Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid

This is my engine size. Is this the part I am looking for? Or is it a related part? Or possibly a larger component that contains my part?

Any help you can give me would be extremely helpful!

It is DEFINITELY the cable that I need. I just wasn't sure if the solenoid included the cable as part of the assembly. If anyone knows where I can find a kickdown cable online, please let me know.

The car works decently without the cable, but it doesn't downshift (for example when going up a hill), and if you accelerate too quickly on the freeway, it does a little bit of shaking. Obviously long term it's gotta be bad on the engine. I don't know if that's the detent cable or not. All I know is that I have a 3.1L Multiport F1 engine.... Please help! The more I look, the more confused I get.

it depends on what transmission you have in your vehicle. either the 440t-4/4t60-e or the 125c trans. the 125c has a detent cable that helps control shifts and timing of them. the 440t5 has a vaccum control canister that helps control shifts and timing of them. but the 4t60-e has an electronic controller that helps decide the shift points and timing of them. hope this helps a little bit.

Call your local Auto-Zone or search here; http://www.autozone.com/
You say in first sentence "Cable" Later you say Solenoid.
These are "Two" different parts. I found a Solenoid at Auto-Zone for $30 rounding numbers.
