I received a letter from the DMV asking me to prove I had car insurance at the time of the date on the letter. My vehicle has a salvage title since last Fall because I hit a guard rail. I called the DMV & they told me to just mail them a copy of the salvage title & that would be all the proof they need that the vehicle was not driveable on the date the letter was issued. I sent the info , but recevied another letter from them saying it was not acceptable to resolve the proof of insurance situation. I let my insurance lapse months ago, but before that I had been driving it after I fixed it myself. I have yet to get the inspection for a new title. Does anyone know what the penalties or fines are for driving a vehicle that has a salvage title with no insurance??

After it warms up you can shut it off and restart and it runs fine. The choke isn't sticking and the float isn't either.

Normally, you flip down the face, press that little button on the left, and the disc ejects. Now it only changes to Radio, but disc remains inside. Can't find the usual pin hole for emergency eject.
Any good advice how to get the CD out manually?
Could it be an electronic hang-up that requires me to disconnect (and then re-connect) the car battery?

Around a year ago my parked car was hit by a drunk driver that did not have his license or insurance, and he didn't stick around. I was at a party, and everyone had been drinking so I decided to wait till the next day to report anything. My boyfriend at the time was friends with him, so I called him the next morning and he asked me not to call the cops and promised he would pay me back. Big mistake. My car had over 1000 dollars of damage on it and I have recieved only around 400 within the past 12 months. He avoids my phone calls now, and claims that he will not pay me back. I am told that I can sue him for this accident and force him to pay me. I still have paint marks on the side of my car that can be matched to his truck. I only have 2 witnesses that would testify for me however, because the rest are his friends and I'm not sure if they would be willing to do that to him. I have all the copies of the bills, and would like to know if I can still file a claim on him or sue him. Thanks

i cant get my car to run. it isnt firing. put new ignition module on it. put new coil packs on it. put new crank position sensor on it. new wiring for plugs and new plugs. i give up. i checked all the fuses. all are ok. what else could it be.

if someone were to have only "liability" ins., what are the least,and most,payments for a wreck..say..for medical bills,pain and suffering? or whatever it pays..i have full coverage,and was in a wreck,and my lawyer wants a copy of MY ins., card..why should they go into my ins., and prob., jack up my ins., for a wreck that my vehicle wasn't even involved in...and what about that law,about when you leave a bar and get in a wreck,even though it was about 50 miles down the road...

The other night my Accord, while going up a hill, started shifting, continuously and my son said that even though his foot was down to the floor, no gas seemed to be getting to the engine, when it stalled, he popped the hood and the engine was so hot that the rain sizzled on it..there was no coolant left in it and yet the inside sensor said it was ok..what could be the problem?? what are some suggestions, besides pushing it off a cliff (I have thought of that) could this be expensive? thanks for any replies.

any ideas why this is happening? when the light comes on my fuel mileage sucks and it will stay on for 2 weeks then it will go off for a couple of days and it is running great.

the car is an 89 535i with motronic 1.1 injection i have replaced the ecu purely because that was what the previous owner said a bmw tech had told her was the problem . there is no spark i straight wired the coil and tested it and got spark . i checked the plug at the fuel pump and there is no power with the key on. i tried to get an ohm value on the crank sensor but could only get a reading on the car side of the plug .that read prety close to correct as per my haynes manual . im wondering how else to check my crank sensor . i already checked the gap between it and the harmonic balancer and its right. my latest problem is i have a new parasitic loss that drains the battery in about two days . any thoughts on that?
