I am trying to get the rotor button off in my 97 honda civic, but it seems to be stuck. Is there something holding it down or do I just need to put a little more M.A.N. into it?

Honda's ( depending on the motor) have a screw on hte side of the rotor that holds it in place.

On the rotor opposite the firing side, there is a phillips screw that holds the rotor in place. Remove this screw and DON'T LOSE IT. The rotor may slide off or you may need to force it.

if you are replacing it then yes just put a little more M.A.N as you call it in to it.

Take two flat tip screw drivers and pry on either side of it. This should get it off for you...and as I said...if you are replacing it...if it breaks no biggy. Clean the distributor shaft with some emery cloth after you get it off so your new one will slide on easy.

Hope this helps.
