Someone told me that somtimes people flash their headlights at another driver to warn them that a police man is around the corner, but its bad to do that because that means your in some kind of gang or you want to challenge them or something? I can't exactly remember. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Please explain if you do. =)

I just had my car sponsored and just started upgrading my car but to keep up with the contracts my sponsors ask me to assist to car shows and also take pictures of my car and their products. How can I find local car shows in Maryland or near states? I already tried HIN but requires to travel too far and the fees are too expensive.

My boyfriend's motorbike conked out on a busy road but by sheer luck he pulled off the road right next to an Arnold Clark garage. He went in and asked the receptionist if anyone could give him a jump start - she toddled off to ask her superiors and came back saying "no problem, that will be £15".

He politely declined and phoned someone who drove out to him with a set of jump leads.

I have to ask, how on earth is this fee calulated? A jump start takes, at most five minutes, from start to finish. That would mean whoever popped out to help with the jump start would be paid a labour fee equating to £180 per hour.

Do you think this fee is fair?

I know they lightened the restrictions, and certain liquid such items are allowed if they are under a certain ounce size. I bought mostly sample size things to take with me, but I was wondering if I could risk taking some makeup.
Its .24 oz. but its expenseive clinique stuff and I dont want it taken. what do you think?

erter? Thats what the guy at the dealership told me. He said because of the demands of gas mileage, newer cars with catalytic converters actually produce more or if not, the same amout, of CO as an older car. Is there any truth to this?

A lot of people say that ALL 4x4s are dangerous and environmentally unfriendly. I own a diesel Land Rover Defender and a BMW Mini Cooper. I have 6 speeding points from driving my Mini but none in the LR. It is too easy to speed in the Mini but it is hard to speed in the LR (0-60 in about 2 hours). The view of the road in all directions and potential hazards from the LR cannot be matched by the Mini or other similar small cars. My LR can, and does regularly, carry 9 people on about 30 mpg. My Mini will carry 2 comfortably on about 40 mpg. My LR has better fuel economy than most sports cars on the road and many 2 litre petrol cars. So why am I penalised so heavily for owning a Land Rover? On the other hand, i see little point in cars such as the BMW X5 - high fuel consumption, high performance and seats only 5; it's just a pose-mobile.

Ok, so one of my brake lights/ tail lights went out. So when I was at wall- mart i bought the bulb to replace it. So I put it in and by brake light work great, all the exterrior lights... So I turn on my truck, and my speedometer lights dont work, and now when i hit my remote to lock the truck, none of the lights flash. All I did was replace that one tail light, and it threw the other stuff off. Please help me if you can, I am puzzled and I will refuse to bring it to a car store. By the way it is a 88 Dodge- Ramcharger.

ok so a while ago me and my friend changed the alternator on my car and afterwards there was this really loud noise coming from the alternator belt. So we tightened it and the noise went away. But after driving around for a while the noise has started to come back, only it's not as loud as it was before, but it's still annoying.
So does this mean that I just havn't found the right setting that it needs to be at?

My friend had to replace one of her tires about a month and a half ago because there was damage to the side wall and she got a used tire that was supposed to be the same brand/model as her other tires. When she went to get her maintenance on her car the dealer told her that the used tire was one centimeter off from the others ones and could cause damage to her car. She is buying new rims and tires of a dif. size and she is still waiting for them to come in which is why she didn't buy new tires all around. Will one centimeter off really cause a lot of damage? The place where she ordered her rims said that the ones she wants are on back order until the end of november... is that too long to run on the different size tire?
