Has anyone been to a car auction? I have seen that you can buy car from $500.00. I am trying to find a Honda and was wondering what they are like and if it is as good as it sounds.

Its in good condition & I want to keep it that way but when I have friends in the car when giving a lift etc they light a cigaret up, as Im a non-smoker I hate this plus I don't want my new car to stink or get cigaret buns. I have hinted & but they took no notice.

A relative of mine is taking a 1997 Buick Lesabre V - 6 to a Buick dealership in Kentucky for repair. Pretty sure they will say a new head gasket is necessary. How much will it cost ?

(I know an independent garage would charge a lot less $$$, but this relative is determined to get the repair done at the dealership)

While my car was being repaired under warrenty my wife - a named driver - was given a courtesy car. Unfortunately as she left the garage she clipped a security bollard and damaged the rear wing of courtesy car.

When I spoke to the garage they said that I would be covered under my own fully comprehensive policy and that would cover the cost of the repair. I have since read the policy booklet and I have discovered that, although I am covered to drive other cars, we are only covered under a 3rd party basis.

Although my wife has her own policy on her car - I would prefer to have my policy cover the claim as it was my car involved and I have protected NCD.

Should the garage have its own cover in place for such situations..? I remember that when I took a test drive with the company (different branch) I was covered under their insurnace but would have to pay an excess should anything go wrong - should this happen again..?

Any advice would be grateful.

Thanks

Vis.

The wipers switch and sprayer does not work, and I have a new switch to put on. I was told it would cost $200 to put it on, and that I could do it myself with the proper tools. But how? Need some quide steps.

I am torn between two SUVs to purchase. They are both priced almost similiarly, and options and reviews are excellent. Gas mileage, everything. Did a 3 full work day research on both. lol. I just don't know which to go for. Maybe you guys have driven either one or both. Please share your experience and which one I should get.

Hi,

I'm going to move soon in St. Petersburg, Florida, and I'd like to know how long does it take to drive from St. Petersburg to Tampa, Clearwater, and Bradenton.

I'd like to know this to make sure the commute between these cities wouldn't take too long. Is there a lot of traffic between these cities?

Do you think it's easy to live in St. Petersburg and work in Tampa? or is it too far?

Thank you in advance :-)

Some information I have read on websites suggests that it works fine but that car manufacturers will not approve bio diesel for their cars. I have an old diesel though so I don't really care about warranties etc but I just want some advice on whether it really as that simple as filling up my car.

I don't plan on having it much longer so I purchased used tires to replace my worn out tires. The tires are actually really new and much more nobby than my previous tires (size 31, 10.5, 15). Is it because the tires are really nobby (Baja series) that my car now shakes? What can be done to fix this problem?

This is more of an answer than a question for owners of new astra estates Driving along door open warning sound comes on i pulled over stopped and switched ignition off tried to restart nothing happened the only things working were headlights when thew ignition key was inserted i disconnected battery and re connected it to reboot system still dead the rac were called and the engineer was stumped could not get power to the computer connection lead on the consul after a visit to the garage it transpired that it was a faulty plug connection in the rear electric compartment the xr6 plug had disconnected this has happened because of vibrations going over speed humps they say this is rare but i've checked this plug a few times and each time it seems to need pushing back in place anyone with one of these cars or if you know someone it may be worth telling them.
