I have an '02 civic coupe, and it is very easy to change bulbs yourself; when you lift up the hood, there is a little rubber cap thingie over the back of the headlight, unplug the connection that you will notice, and remove the rubber cap, and if the '01 is the same as my '02, there are these pain in the butt clip things that hold in the headlight, I found that if you put your finger on the top of the clip and kinda push in and pull up it will come right off, then remove the old bulb, put in the new one, put the clip back on the prongs to hold your light in, put the rubber cap over it, and plug it in, walla you are done.
Or you can go to AutoZone and usually if you ask one of the workers there, they will put them in for you, of course, if you buy the bulbs at AutoZone.

The relevant manual from the Hayes series should help.
The key is
1) to take your time,
2) don't force anything,
3) don't touch the 'glass' parts of the bulbs with your bare hands, as the sweat will damage them,
4) work in daylight.
You can get new bulbs from a main dealer parts department, a gas station, or a car parts supplier like Halfords. Make sure you get the right ones. You can look this up in the book near the parts at Halfords, or on the packaging.

It really is easy, open the hood and grab the bulb and rotate it counterclock wise and then pull the bulb out of the housing. unplug it plug in the new one but be carefull not to touch the glass of the bulb with your fingers. If you do just wipe it clean, install it in the same position that the other bulb came out in and turn it clock wise and it will lock into place. Test it and make sure it work and then your done.

Usually the instructions on changing a bulb are in the owner's manual.
You can always go to AutoZone, Napa or any other car center and they'll help you find the proper bulb and probably change it too.
