This is more of an answer than a question for owners of new astra estates Driving along door open warning sound comes on i pulled over stopped and switched ignition off tried to restart nothing happened the only things working were headlights when thew ignition key was inserted i disconnected battery and re connected it to reboot system still dead the rac were called and the engineer was stumped could not get power to the computer connection lead on the consul after a visit to the garage it transpired that it was a faulty plug connection in the rear electric compartment the xr6 plug had disconnected this has happened because of vibrations going over speed humps they say this is rare but i've checked this plug a few times and each time it seems to need pushing back in place anyone with one of these cars or if you know someone it may be worth telling them.

Contact your Vauxhall dealer they have access to technical info from Vauxhall they will be interested as this could be a safety issue.Also contact Vauxhall customer relations and inform them and ask for a reference number.I used to work at a main agents this is the correct procedure.Regards Mick.

I didn't have the same thing, but I did have similar electrical problems after what you described, Surely Vauxhall must know of this, and do a recall?
