Robert S is correct. Both Courtney B and Nick C are just plain wrong.

A- Hans Werner Aufrecht
M- Eberhard Melcher
G- Großaspach

AMG is the legendary racing/tuning division of Mercedes whose foundations date back to 1967 when it was originally founded by partners Hans Werner Aufrecht and Eberhard Melcher. Großaspach was simply Aufrecht's home town.

Although originally AMG was a separate company that specialized in the tuning of Mercedes-Benz engines and vehicles for racing purposes, AMG signed with Mercedes-Benz officially in '99. Since then, AMG-badged Benzes have proliferated from only hundreds being produced per year, to dozens of thousands.

I'm sorry, but your girlfriend is STUPID. I was looking at a C32 AMG instead of getting a C320 and the AMG is the performance model. It has a hand built engine by the guys @ AMG. They're basically Mercedes-Benz in house tuner. Example: The same car, non AMG is the C320 (3.2L, 215hp), & the C32 (3.2L SUPERCHARGED 349HP)..go for the C32. It has an excellent chassis, suspension & is a great quality car. It is perfect for a 22 year old. Show your girlfriend an 02 Lexus, then she'll be saying the Mercedes aint a grandpas car anymore. It is an extremely rare automobile (the c32). Please, go for it! Glad I found & replied to this. GET IT DEFINITELY IT IS GORGEOUS. This is meant to be on the track and is a very high performance vehicle. I even got a quote on my insurance and this baby was only $1100 a year, and im in NJ (the most expensive insurance on the planet).

Affalterbach Motern Groupe. Like Lingenfelter Corvette, Calloway BMW or Very Expensive Fast Car. Tuner car company for Mercedes Benz AMG introduced the 500seb Hammer in 1979 and has not look back. Todays 10 cyl Mc Claren 600 horsepower car I saw at detroit why would you need a AMG version? Because you want the handling and super wheels and tires
