well it depends... I just got a R500. I was thinking about the porsche cayenne but look at it this way. If you want speed, get the porsche. If you want more safety and comfort, and reliabity(cant spell) get a mercedes benz.

This is not a simple question, it all depends on your price range, what you want in a car, performance needs, etc....
If you are looking more for luxury go mercedes, more for speed go for Porsche.
If Mercedes: #1. Mclaren SLR (V8 Supercharged) ,
#2. CL 65 AMG (V12), #3. CL 55 AMG (V10)
If Porsche: #1. 911 GT4, #2 Carrera, #3. Boxster

Mercedes looks more baller. Which means you look like you have status and money with the mercedes. On the other hand, porsche is filled with passions and driven by dreams. Porsche is really reliable.(especially year 2005 and above). good luck

go with a BMW or Lexus if you are looking for luxury. The reliability on Mercedes and Porsche are not good.
