I was wondering if anyone could tell me if there is a difference between Chilton and Haynes repair manuals, and which of the two is better. I bought the Haynes Repair Manual for 1993-2002 Chevrolet Camaro / Pontiac Firebird because it was a couple dollars less. I have been considering picking up the Chilton Book Company Repair Manual: Total Car Care for 1993-1998 Chevrolet / Pontiac Camaro & Firebird as an extra resource in an attempt to get more information. I guess what I'm asking is if anyone knows if there is any more info in the Chilton that is not in the Haynes. Or if they're pretty much identical, making it a waste of money to also pick up the Chilton.

I put a fuses in for the taillights and as soon as I hit the brake pedal, I blow a fuse. Can someone help or at least point me in the direction of a wiring diagram? I'm not very good with electrical stuff so I need some help in english if you know what I mean. The last owner said that the taillights would work until he hit the brakes while turning, then the fuse would blow. Now it just blows when I hit the brakes, even if I'm not turning at all. I know that I'm probably being too vague, but hopefully someone out there has had the same kind of problem. Any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated. Thanx!!!

my bf has an '06 lexus IS that is practically brand new. he needs to sell this asap. how do we go about it? would it be profitable or just to break even to sell to a dealer or car max for example?

he is financing it... and ive gone through the other similar questions on this forum... so would it work to sell it to a dealer? even if it's a couple thousands off- it's ok although we would like to sell it for the payoff amt or more.

scenario-
payoff amt is $31000.... done some research on blue book value-
car is worth about $28-$31k... if i privately sell it, i could possibly make the $31k or more. but it would be time consuming and i wouldnt know where to start. has yahoo autos has any success?

thanks in advance. we are totally lost.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to get home to the west coast for christmas from this little town in the middle of rural pennsylvania.
all the airfares from here are extremely expensive, so i think i should go to new york or washington. but it will cost hundreds of dollars just to park my car at the airport for 3 weeks. so i want to take amtrak to new york or dc in order to get to the airport. but i need to drive to the amtrak station which is 40 miles away from this small town. so my question is: am i allowed to park my car at the amtrak station parking lot for 3 weeks if it's a small town amtrak station?

I just finished installin my front 6 1/2 component speakers and the left tweeter doesnt play.

I checked the wiring on the crossovers and it was fine
Polarity was all correct.
All wires were perfect condition and none of them are pinched or ripped.
Hardly any sound comes out of the left tweeter.

Can tweeters blow out.
I didnt play it at high volumes but i played it somewhat loud when i just finished installing it.
The other side had no problems performing at same volumes.

So could it be that i blew it out or am i ganna have to return this frustrating defective tweeter.

Recently had front brakes done by a friend (new pads and rotors). Now, when I accelerate and turn -- it doesn't seem to happen if I'm driving along and take a "normal" turn -- I hear a "click click click" fairly loudly from the front wheel(s). Makin' me nervous.

Steam locomotive pilot trucks are made to pivot behind the point of wheel to rail contact resistance. This causes the pilot truck to steer into the curve and helps pull the driving wheels toward the curve. This innovation reduced the large number of derailments experienced in the 1800's. Are freight car wheel truck asemblies pivoted in a similar manner to achieve a similar result?

Are there any other alternatives other than gasoline besides: a bike or walking? Paying $3.00 a gallon is outrageous. I know americans are spoiled but we drive more than most countries, why shouldn't we have more effiecient vehicels? Where are the alternative vehicles? Why did the electric/solor/hydrogen cars disappear?
