Whats the deal the government wants everyone to participate in paying for auto insurance yet the prices are rediculous what happened to buying a car and registering it thats it? Does the government think about Americans servival aside from gas, food, children, mortgage blah blah blah............. or do people vote for laws blind folded????

My main question is my credit...it's not so good. Could I get someone else to lease the vehicle who lives in another state lease it for me until I get back on my feet with my credit? Also any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

When the car has been runnung for awhile and I go to shift into a gear it cuts off...any answers?? But when you first start it up it is fine. The whole engine jerks when it cuts off.

My daughter is leaving for college next week and getting roid of her car. It does need a new exhaust, but we didn't want to put money into a car we're getting rid of. So she gets pulled over and the cop tells her that she has to fix it, get it inspected and show him proof of all of this - even though she told him that she was selling it next week, he told her that if she didn't comply, she'd get a ticket.

in Southern California (So Cal, the Southland, whatever) use "The" when identifying the number of their freeways* ?

People in Northern California** just identify a freeway by its number or name alone. (We also use names, but not as often: Bayshore Fwy, Nimitz Fwy, Redwood Hwy, Panoramic Hwy, etc.)

So, what's the deal with the "The"? ("The" as in "duh", not as in "thee".)

*For what it's worth, Southern Californians used to refer to their freeways with names (Long Beach Fwy, Santa Ana Fwy, San Diego Fwy, Golden State Fwy), but that practiced has ended. I suspect all the radio traffic reporters needed more time to deal with the increasing number of traffic events, so they dropped the naming convention.

** just to clarify, nobody up here calls it "Nor Cal" except for people from So Cal and The Valley.

my1998 ford tauras has a sick transmission and bad uv joints i can purchase a older 1995 ford tauras for parts my problem is i dont know if they will work if the company changed the car between those years and i havent lined up one specific macanic so i cant really ask anyone and the parts stores are little help

My car heats up quicker than normal. The temperature gauge
goes past the mid-way mark. Even on short trips. What do I need
to have looked at. My car caught afire and the problem appeared
to have come from somewhere in or around the battery. According to the mechanic the cooling fan relay switch was not hooked up correctly. But now after it has been repaired it is still heating up. Is this normal for this model and or year.

and how hard is it to change?

I picked the brain of an auto technician and believe that changing this will solve my problem (car won't start when it's rainy/moist outside...it started up like a champ today and always runs fine as long as i can get it started!)

this part is only $40 at the parts shop so i figured it would be worth a try.
