i bought an engine from a 1975 and i put my carbs from my 1980 on that engine i cant get it to run is this why?

Your first question about the weak spark is more likely then the carb being bad you may need a new coil and you should clean or replace the points, the points are how you can adjust the timing also...

this is not that not ordinary. purchase a can of gummout's choke and carb purifier. Take the carbs off of the bike (drain the gas out of the decide on the flow bowls first). commence with the decide on the flow bowl facet first ,unscrew all the covers and shoot it with the carb purifier. placed the covers back on now. be able to strip the hell out of those little screws, they're tender metallic and this is problem-free to ought to modify them once you service the carbs.
