my1998 ford tauras has a sick transmission and bad uv joints i can purchase a older 1995 ford tauras for parts my problem is i dont know if they will work if the company changed the car between those years and i havent lined up one specific macanic so i cant really ask anyone and the parts stores are little help

1996 - 1999 were different than the 1992 - 1995 models and have defferent PCM's and mechanical components for the most part. I'd recommend holding out for something better or biting the proverbial bullet and getting a price from a shop to rebuild. Your only other option is to buy a parts car or the parts from a salvage yard but be very carefukl about what a wrecked car has for damage and mileage. Ask the salvage yard where the car was hit if you can only see the parts and are unable to see the car that they will come out of.

no you can not use 95' parts on a 98' because up till 95' was the OBD1 system and from 96+ is OBD2 so your computer wouldn't really recognize your transmission
