I have a small amount of oil round my transmission gearbox and the dealer tells me this is normal and wont ever be a problem. Can anyone advise if this is true or bullshit?
Thanks

I am getting it for $400... it has 150k miles on it... my real question is that the guy I am buying it from has replaced the radiator and the thermostat but it still overheats... why is that? What parts do I need to check out? Could it possibly be the water pump or the cooling fan or something? I know how to fix the other 2 things. (it has no muffler and the charging system has a problem ... battery or alternator...) I just need someone who knows Fords that can tell me what my problem is going to be and someone to give me an idea of how much money I will have to put into the truck. I know it will be about $50 for the muffler system, and if I get it new, $125 for my alternator... HELP!!!

I was told by a mechanic that I have a blown head gasket. He said it was going to cost $1,300. The car is fine otherwise and looks OK. Now I am not convinced its the head gasket. I have had white smoke coming out from my tailpipe once, but it stopped. The big question for me is that the car has never overheated.. The car runs OK. I brought it in because of an oil leak that got very bad. I don't know this mechanic, but it is a large local place. I told him to hold off until I make a decision on Monday....but after reading other Q and A, I just don't know.

Its having heating problems. I recently got the water pump replaced, and it over heated after that got done. Now it over heats quite a lot, not just when i'm going fast. I've been told it is probably the head gasket but i don't know!

An accident, no direct impact. No noise or indication of hub bearing going bad. Now, noisy, and my wife smells something getting hot when she drives the car even short distances in town.
State Farm's adjuster says it could ONLY be because of wear and tear, since we repalced the one on the other side. And Car Bearings will ONLY go bad if they wear out, or thay have a direct impact from another vehicle( I assume that is what he meant.) . They, State Farm, will not replace any bearing unless it has had a direct impact! Please let me know a little of your back ground if you will. thank you

92 nissan bluebird was idling roughly and stalled at the lights on the way to work. So i changed the spark plugs and air filter, the gap between the new and old plugs visually looked the same.Re- assembled.Turned the ignition and she roughly started, like she was choking and would not idle properly. Also could smell petrol. HELP
