Yes, GM v-6's will leak water into the oil... the intake seals are a hard plastic and they crack from heat. Replace the lower intake gasket and remember clean with "brake clean" to remve oil from the rtv sealing area.

YES it can and it will. Then it will blow a head gasket, and also ruin your camshaft bearings. Do not buy an aftermarket gasket set, GM has redesigned the intake gaskets. Get OEM gaskets, and use GM sealer on the ends of the intake. also replace the thermostat. The thermostat is easy to do with the intake off.

Coolant getting into the oil is serious. It can be caused by a leaking head gasket or cracked head. Normally if the intake gasket leaks, water will go out the exhaust. It can, however, get into the oil during the time that the engine is not running.
Check the spark plugs to see if water contamination is present. The bad cylinder's plug will look different than the rest. (Rust-Porcelain-etc.

yes i have a 96 blazer and had to replace the intake gasket for that same reason

absolutley. i have done so many 3.1 intakes for the same problem i can do them blindfolded........almost
