Heard of a lot of head problems with those, could be minor, like a waterpump. But could be major. You need to pressure ckeck the cooling system to make sure it is not leaking. The coolant should be circulating in the radiator after the engine warms up, if not then there is a flow problem,blockage or water pump. I'd pass if you don't know this.

OK providing there is no ehx gasesin the the radiator, meaning blown head gasket of cracked head or both, if the there is no water or coolant leaks and has the proper thermostat and the proper radiator and a good fan clutch, , it could have exht in the cooling system, meaning it could have been at first been a thermostat and it went to far , this what i keep telling people (not you) if you just keep changing parts your not fixing it need to know whats wrong first, and i know this is what your trying to find out, OK now you can buy a tester called block check at your local auto parts store and what it does is its a blue fluid that turns yellow if exh gases are present in the radiator , if so then the heads are going to need to come off and be checked for warped-ness or cracks and or both, OK but the price is still good even if this is bad will set you back a little coin but hey its a lot cheaper that a new car and when you done doing the top end providing it did not over heat to the extent that it warped the pistons, if this is the case you will need a motor whether it be a long or shot block, or a good used one from a wrecking yard, even then you sill ahead that's a cheap price fore a vehicle even if it does not run OK, take care , if it checks out good you need to verify somethings ,#1. fan-clutch,#2. proper thermostat and if it was installed correctly, #3. proper raiator and cap , make sure it has a good raidiator cap.#4. pressure test the cooling system and make sure it has no leake under presure and the tester will also test the cap as well.

If you don't know what is wrong with it, don't buy it. There are all kinds of possibilities of potential problems. The old age and high miles are an indication to me that this vehicle needs to go to the junk yard.
