Oily plugs on your two stroke are always a sign of too much oil being mixed in with your gas. Either by injector, or manual mixing. Go to your local dealer and buy a "Ratio Rite" mixing container to accuratley measure your mix if you manually mix your feul. And never, never, dump oil into your gas tank hoping this will mix for you. It does not. The mix has to be shaken, not stirred.
If you have an injector system, ask your local dealer to check the output for you, as that may need to be adjusted to a lesser flow rate.
Now, for some other suggestions, black plugs which look bad are a sign of a bad fuel / air ratio, which could be confused with too much oil in the system. They could be covered in black soot, which are gas soaked, which would make them look oily but may not be oil. Your plug tip, should be a light brown color when your engine is tuned properly. Do not go to a hotter plug to try to correct the problem, as a hotter plug than recommended by the manufacter could result in burning a hole in the top of your piston, then you have major repairs to deal with. And have only compounded your initial problem.
Take your bike to your dealer and have them rejet your bike for the altitude you ride in, and check your oil/fuel ratio. A few bucks spent here, although may seem high at the moment, will save you major bucks for repairs later. Also 2 strokes have to be constantly rejetted for the altitude, and out side temperature you ride in.

we seem to be getting into the MX bike equivalent of Gas vs Diesel. 4Strokes- (Good) Nowadays they are much more Hi-Po than they used to be (ask anyone who has ridden an XR250 or a DR350) more torque faster rev and finally good frames and suspension to go with them (Bad) You break it, might as well buy a new bike, 4Stroke heads cost almost as much as the bike. If you DO know how to work on engines and are not afraid of doing routine maintenance like valves and cams, go for it, the YZ250F is a great bike. 2Strokes- (Good) FAST AND POWERFUL. CC for CC 2-Strokes rule. You match a CR500 against a CRF450, the 500 will leave the 4-Stroke crying in the dust... and thats w/ 1990s technology. Easy to maintain. If you know what you are doing, you can change the piston and rings in a 2-stroke in under an hour as well as shine up the engine and put in new reeds and its a heck of a lot cheaper to work on, less moving parts = less crap to break (Bad) Getting outmoded. Its true, all the bike manufacturers are going to the 4 Stroke, heck, I wouldnt mind one to haul my tookus around either, just cant afford to break my 2 Stroke, nevermind a 4 Stroke. The fact that the AMA is allowing the size differences in the classes of racing are making the 4 Strokes cheaters (theres no replacement for displacement) The YZ250 would be great for all out power and tunability w/out breaking the bank. As for the Oil.... use better oil and tune the carb accordingly. I used to use MC1+ Oil by Bel Ray once upon a time and my bike drooled like a 14 yr old w/ a Victorias Secret catalog. Now, I have a new version called H1R from Bel Ray, made sure my plug gap was spot on, use AVGAS (wouldn't reccomend it if you are not willing to tear down the top end and clean the head) and rejetted my carb and it runs crisp and clean, been using the same plug for over a year.

Silly child! A two stroke needs the lube mixed with the fuel, as it is compressed in the crankcase, then, sent up to the cylinder to fire.
Double check your mixture of oil to gas! If automatic through an injector, you need to perform the tuning of that, so it is a bit less.
Oily plugs are normal, as is the need to decarbonize the head regularly! It is the price you pay for power on every stroke of the piston! Almost twice the output of power over a four stroke engine that gives only one power pulse for two full cycles of the piston!!

No, it most likely means that the fuel/oil ratio is too low, i.e. too much oil in the mix or the oil injection system is pumping too much oil into the engine. It could also mean that the heat range of your plugs is too low.
2-stroke engines do not have an oil-filled crankcase or oil control rings. They only have compression rings. The engine oil is either mixed with the fuel or injected directly into the engine. If too much oil is used the plugs can become fouled. If the heat range of the plugs is too low the oil will not be burned off and the plugs will become fouled.

alright, i had the same problem with my cr125. it would foul plugs left and right. my buddy told me about this great two stroke oil. I dont know the name of it off the top of my head but its like $17 a quart. Just go to any dealer around u and ask for their best two stroke oil. This helped my performance alot. also try a hotter NGK plug. yours now should be somewhere around NGK br8es, br9es or something like that. try something more like br5es and br7es. I did this three months ago and my bike never fouled a plug after that.

2 strokes eventually foul plugs. The best plug I've seen for 2 strokes is NGK. Champion will last about an hour in my buddy's Banshee, with NGK he can ride all day.

Engine is probably fine. You need to always keep the air filter clean, always. The reason for fouling plugs is usually caused from a rich condition(too much fuel, not enough air) that is most likely neglected filter maintinance. Don't adjust carb till you know it can breath ok.
