Mythbuster's proved this one...
Below 60Kph (Approx 40Mph) your vehicle uses more fuel with the A/C on.
Above 60Kph your vehicle uses more fuel with the windows down (Due to wind drag).

It all depends where you are driving. On the freeway windows down creates a drag so it is less fuel efficient but on the streets you should turn he A/C off and roll down the windows because there isn't much wind blowing. Also, since you have a truck you should also drive with the tailgate UP because the tailgate down also creates drag and is less fuel efficient.

It is a small amount of waste on gas. When your driving around town you may be able to tolerate no A/C and the windows down. While on the highway with the windows open creates to much drag. So over 45 A/C on windows up. You could also try to drive with the tail gate down to create less drag.

Either way.... if you use the AC you're obviously going to use a bit more gas in order to keep the AC cool and running.. but if you're driving with the windows down (at high speeds ie. on the freeway) the wind coming into your car is pulling against it and making your car work a tad bit harder to push forward which in turn .... is also burning a bit more fuel. Its a lose/lose situation.

If the inside temperature of the car is higher than the outside temperature you should open the windows until the temperatures are the same then turn on the a/c and roll up the windows. If its the opposite leave the windows up and turn on the a/c.

under no circumstances. in case you attempt to shop gasoline and shop your cool then you definately would desire to continuously force interior the city with the homestead windows down and the a/c off and force on the line with the homestead windows up and the a/c on. the clarification for that's drag. the speedier your automobile is going, the extra it has to artwork annoying to flow against the wind = drag. interior the city, you're unlikely quickly so the automobile does not would desire to artwork annoying to stay at a intense velocity. on the line, the automobile is going very quickly and rolled down homestead windows each and all the air to flow into the cabin which slows down the automobile with the help of coming up drag interior the automobile.

Windows down creates drag, therefore using fuel.
Using a/c creates the need for your charging unit to work more, therefore using more fuel.
I would rather go with my windows down, then use a/c, but everyone has there own comfort level. Good luck.
