Now is a good time to buy an '06 because the dealers are making room for '07s. December is a better time to buy an '07.

If you are looking for a good deal -- then stay out of the showroom. The second you sign the dotted line 20% of the value of your new car leaps into the sewer. Next year, 20% more, year after that, 15% ....... get the picture? This is the dirty secret new car salesmen never tell. A car is a consumable, NOT an investment. A three year old, well maintained Tahoe is every bit as reliable as a new car. If the warranty is what you are after, forget it. It is a myth. Drop two grand in a savings account for possible future repairs and you are as covered as a new car warranty. Today's modern vehicles seldom ever need in excess of a $2000.00 repair during the LIFE of the vehicle. You will pay five times this amount for the warranty and cost of buying new.
PS -- all SUV's are on a fire sale right now due to high cost of fuel. Be warned, though -- the public is getting used to high gas prices so the sale ends soon!

When you do decide to buy ask for a vehicle that was built preferably on any day other than Monday or Friday.Traditionally more mistakes are made on those 2 days of the workweek. Why u ask. On Monday they are coming back from the weekend and everybody knows that on Monday you are just getting back in the swing of things. On Fridays everyone is anxious about being off and allready pretty tired. You can order your new vehicle and request what day of the week you want it built on.
The best time to buy would be right after the beginning of the next new car year if you are planning on buying off the lot.

If you want the 07 Tahoe I would wait because it is the first year of the new design and you should NEVER buy in the first year of a new design. If you want an 06, it is a great time to buy because there are discounts on the 06 models.
