a girl i'm acquainted with ran into a mechanic who seemed to have run her over the coals with a bill running over 300 in dinero...i'm not a professional mechanic but i do know quite a bit about car maintenance and come to find out that a lot of the work was shoddy and some actually not dont...proven fact by the thermostat left in the trunk was a thermostat originally bought from the store...and some of the problems that were existing are still occuring are still going on...i just changed spark plugs which were supposed to have been changed last feb. are new now...but were not changed ...basic tuneup stuff...this feller who stated all this and some extra work was done is suppose to be a certified mechanic and works at a car dealership was trying to get this work done as a side job...and all money was paid "under the table" as they say...but one check was wrote as payment to prove there was a cash exchange...what i want to know is can this be proven as a situation where someone was taken

my chevrolet venture had the "service engine soon" light on which signifed that it was due for an oil change. i had it serviced at ez lube and did not notice that this light was still on after the service. now, i am wondering if this can be turned off manually.

When I bought my truck, the transmisson fluid was over full by quite a bit. I was told that my diaphram in the modulator valve had slipped, so I went and bought a new one and replaced it. Now that it's replaced, it still wont go into gear. What else could be the problem..?

when i am coming onto the highway, i push down on the gas pedal faster than normal. Am i burning the oil up in my engine when i do this? smoke comes out of my two mufflers until i get to the speed of the gas pedal. if you think about it, it is the only time that you can get away with speeding. on the onramp, police are unlikely to pull you over when you are accelerating from 0 to 60. i just try to do it in the shortest time. it is actually legal to do it. people just haven't figured it out.

okay heres how this whole thing with my car went i have a 1993 nissan 240sx se one morning i filled the tank up whent to kragen bought fuil injection cleaner then i put it in my car drove about 5 to 7 miles then i parked it then thats when this went wrong starter went out battery died negitive battery cable went out then i fixed all of that now my car doesnt rev over 2500 rpms driving or idleing so when i drive i have to shift before 2500 rpms because it will start jerking at 2500 rpms and the tail pipe is spitting a little bit of black liquid and a little bit of black smoke and the car is wasting a huge amount of gas why is that can anyone help me please

I own a 1988 Mazda B2200 pickup. If it sits for two days or more the battery becomes dead with no juice to start it. I have installed a new battery and checked the alternator and it charges at 13.90 volts. I take the battery connections off and on and there is no spark showing a short. How do I find the short in the electrical system. would appreciate all the help I can get. Thanks in advance Doug

2001 Town&Country van. I'm guessing from research I've done today that the problem is with the shift/brake lock feature. My question is, is there an override switch for it somewhere on this particular model so we can drive it to a garage? It's difficult to find a mechanic on a weekend, especially at a dealer. I've read that some cars have this feature.
