The service engine soon light and the change oil light are two different lights. Take it to Auto Zone or a GM dealer and have them read the codes. Auto Zone usually doe's this for free, the dealer will charge you. The instructions for the change oil lamp are in your owners manual.

gm uses the service engine soon light as the check engine light , unless you have a seperate check engine light , you can check this by putting the key in the on position and when the lights in the dash light up you should see a check engine light , if not then this service engine soon light is the c.e.l ,

Owners Manual should state how to do this. Try finding a forum involving Chevy Ventures and they can help you too.

take it to an auto zone or someplace like it that can read the codes from the on board computer to see if there is a problem. Then they can reset it if there is no problem.I have also been told to disconnect the battery for a minute and it may reset on it's own.
