If you are asking whether a SWAP could be done - that is to put a Ford motor in an old Mazda truck, YES you can. BUT that is a qualified YES. You cannot just swap the motors - an engine swap for the trucks that you are asking about would have to include ALL of the Ford parts: PCM, engine, radiator, transmission, electrical harnesses, ignition systems, fuel pump, etc. AND you would have to get a custom exhaust built to fit the chassis among other alterations that would have to be made. A swap like this is a very time-consuming project and is not advisable for someone who is not proficient working on engines.
HOWEVER, If you are asking whether the engines are interchangeable, then the answer is no. I was a technician for a lot of years (I worked at a Ford dealer) and I had a Mazda pickup. The Mazda trucks until 1993 were 100% Mazda designed and built. Those vehicles are not interchangeable with any other. When there was a change, Mazda began to offer trucks that were co-designed with Ford technologists and engineers. That was in 1993. [For 1993 you could get the Mazda-built Mazda trucks (B2200 and B2600 were the only models) trucks or the Mazda&Ford Mazda trucks (B3000 and B4000). The unfortunate part of co-designing in the newer Mazdas was that the companies did not agree to use the same powertrain control modules (PCM or engine computer). That meant that we Ford technicians could not lplug into the Mazda trucks for monitoring and diagnostics purposes and that Mazda's service tools could not communicate with Ford PCM's either. There are some parts that can be interchanged but it's most advisable to stay away from an engine swap. I would be inclined to look further into getting another engine froma salvage yard if you need another one or perhaps yours could be repaired.

No, the Mazda B-series was NOT a re-badged Ford Ranger until 1994.

Nope, Mazda had not become Ford yet.The engine and the tranny are differnt. But a 95 ranger engine will fit a 94 Mazda truck and vise versa.

As others have said, you can make anything fit anything , but direct bolt in no... depending upon the transmission the motor might fit the transmission but that's about it.. (Ford has used mazda designed manuals back since 1987)
