i am a law abiding citizen and i dont condone anti-social behaviour or vandalism. however there is something about seeing a speed camera thats been torched or spray painted that makes me smile. am i the only one?

the engine at idle revs up to around 1200 and drops down to normal idle, 700 or so. The charge light is on but its charging at least a little bit. I took the positive wire off at my friends advice to check and the engine died so he is saying the alternator is bad. Could anyone tell me any ideas on why it is doing this and if the alternator is really bad? Thanks in advance for any help

My teengage daughter drives my old car, a 2000 Ford Taurus. I haven't seen the car yet, but she says that the RPM drops suddenly (or sometimes spikes) when driving and when idling - and then sometimes stalls.

I know she's been buying cheap, no-name gas. Could that be the problem? I also know she doesn't maintain it regularly...

It shouldn't be the transmission (recently rebuilt)

I just bought my 1st boat, 18 1/2 ft Kenner 112 hrp. Mercury engine 800lbs max. Still in the breaking in stage. I am concerned about the the RPM's. I don't where the red zone would be.

I just thought of this as my dad and I got back home from breakfast this morning. I can understand the need for acceleration for race cars, emergency vehicles, cop cars, etc. but why do cars have a top speed limit for 120 when driving that fast on a freeway or street is illegal?

And yes, I am bored.
