I'm in the market for a sporty convertible. It needs to have an automatic transmission and be under $65K. I am thinking of a Corvette, BMW, or Porsche...Which should I choose and do you have any other suggestions?

I would go with reliability, fuel economy, style. So I'd be looking at Lexus or even the Toyota Prius and get 50MPG. The Prius would get you some real bragging rights.

But get a good look at ratings at

Now im only 18 but ive driven my share of nice cars. everything from a Ferrari Maranello to the new Lotus to the 1988 lotus espirit. I'm also a car dealer so i know what cars are provide reliability and power. The BEST bang for the buck is the Corvette in any trim. Also check out the Viper SRT-10. Its a little higher than your price range but its totally worth every penny. Now if you really want to get serious and impress every...and i mean every...person on the street...go for the Mercedes SL 55 AMG. Simply the most beautiful auto ever designed and its a 5.5 liter motor...supercharged...endless power and bottomless torque. Another German monster...And lastly avoid the porsche...Its sexy sure but its not the best on performance...at least the newer ones...my father has a 1990 porsche 911 Turbo and my neighbor has a 2002 911 turbo and i beat my neigbor in a race...keep that in mind...

it depends on what you want the car to do. do you want to cruise or go fast; or maybe both? the best value for your dollar will be the corvette. if you are going to hold on to it for a long time it really comes down to which one you are most comfortable with. if you only plan on having it for a couple of years you might want to consider either the porsche or the bmw, as they will probably hold their short term resale better than the vette. but before you buy any of them try renting one for a weekend to see how you really like it. consider how easy it is to get in and out of/ how the top goes down/placement of controls and gauges and so on. after you have lived with one of them for a couple of days you will have a better "feel" for which one you like the best. good luck

I've got just the deal for you:

You may have seen the Tesla electric sportscar http://www.teslamotors.com
*
You may have even seen the T-Zero electric sports car

http://www.acpropulsion.com/ACP_FAQs/FAQ_cars.htm
*
These two cars show that it is now possible to build electric cars that can out-accelerate a

Ferrari, and go 250 - 350 miles on a single charge. But both these cars are very expensive.
*
So who else is working on electric cars?
*
Would you believe China? They have to work on EVs. There won't be enough oil to support

China's future economic growth.
*
I drive an old electric vehicle. I also have friends with electric vehicles. Some of them

have recently been able to buy some amazing, cutting-edge EV batteries from China - example:
*
http://www.everspring.net/product-battery.htm
*
These batteries are better, and cheaper than the ones in those $100,000+ sportscars above.

If you look at the chart, you'll see they are as cheap as lead-acid batteries, and they hold

up for 1100 charges, twice as many charges as the other LI-Ion batteries on the chart.
*
Now, look at this car:
*
http://www.milesautomotive.com/products_xs200.html
*
It's a Chinese electric car, which will be imported into the USA next year. The driving

range is almost as good as those sports cars above. But it only costs $28500. And that price

could get a lot cheaper.

I like the BMW 650i convertible. Comes standard with auto and shouldn't cost more than $65K.

I'm not partial to the Boxster and I don't know if the Lexus SC 430 convertible remains in production.

My dad just bought a 2007 Ford Shelby Corbra GT500 for 66K. The car is sweet and fast. I mean really fast. His is red with a white racing stripe going down the middle. Its not a convertible but its sweet. He doesn't have to do anything to the car because it is ready to go. its a really nice ride.

I love you! Seriously, I think you are a great guy. I have read some of your answers to other people's questions and you sound like a hot, sexy, funny, considerate, nice man. Very respectful...

Anyway, I think you should buy the car that suits you. What do YOU like? We are not the one's who will be driving it. Just go to a dealer and try them. See which one fits you. Good Luck.
