And you keep looking around to see blue lights! Your turbo bearings are worn and the impeller is comming in contact with the turbo housing or air intake has come off and your hearing the turbo. Whistle and some high pitch noise is normal. Ask the bloke at the pub to ride in his Vauxall Brava and see if it sounds the same.

No this is not normal Brava especialy the 2.2 litre which is quite sluggish by turbo standards.First thing to do is to check your intercooler pipes for air leaks this can cause a high pitched whine.If its not this check the turbo impeller for any lateral movement also check that the blades have not come into contact with the turbo wall.If they have its a recon turbo don't get it from vauxhall Garret do one suitable much cheaper.

It`s the power steering. It`s a common problem with vauxhalls. Don`t worry there`s nothing wrong with it. It`s just whining a bit.

you do get a bit of a whistle from the turbo, but if its as loud as you say then you have a problem.

turbo's do sometimes whistle and hiss, not too much to worry about. get a dump valve fitted and it will sound really cool.

look for leaks in the pipe that goes from the turbo to inlet manifold,tighten all clamps.

your first problem is that its a fiat, try changing this and you should find the noise problem will go away.
