I am a single parent in Minnesota with a steady full-time job but mediocre credit (thanks to the ex)

The only house in my area I can afford needs all new flooring, paint and drywall repairs. How can I get a loan for 10K more than the purchase price so that I can fix it up to live in?

I am selling my house and there is a buyer who is very interested in buying it. The problem is that her fiancé is in the military and is in Iraq. He gave her the go-ahead to start the process of purchasing it so she is trying to obtain financing. It’s been about two weeks now. If she truly is serious about buying my house and is trying to get the financing sorted out, does the process take longer if her fiancé is also going to be on the loan application and he is halfway across the world?

My landlord failed to disclose mold damage and repairs on our main bathroom until the day we moved in. The bathroom was unusable (door taped shut) for the first three months we lived there but we continues to pay rent. When I asked him about when the bathroom would be fixed, he yelled at me and told me that if we didn't like it, we could move out. Well, we stayed. (stupid, I know)
I notified him again, in writing, over 30 days ago about additional repairs that need to be made. He assured that they'd make the repairs asap but has done nothing.
Now my husband is getting transferred out of state and we are only six months in to the lease. The landlord is threatening legal action if we break the lease unless we find and screen a new tenant.
Hasn't he already broken the lease several times? Can we get out of it? If we go to court, what are our chances? We have documentation and pictures of all repairs needed in the condo.

Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks! (we're in CA)

I gave the key to my landlord on the 17th and we did a walkthrough and that was done, now she is saying that it will take 3 to 4 weeks from today the 13th to get my security deposit back, because she had other things to do and my lease wasn't up til the first anyway. Shouldn't I get it back now? What should I do?

My partner & I (first time buyers) have just applied for a joint mortgage. We don't foresee a break-up but are looking at every possible contingency before embarking on this important purchase! He earns twice as much as me and will, therefore, be paying twice as much of the monthly mortgage payments. We will have a Tenancy in Common Agreement drawn up with the relevant unequal split shares (40/60) reflecting the balance of minimum payments we each must make monthly. Our query actually relates to overpayments; if we do break up in a few years' time, and we've both made varying overpayments during that time, how should the profit from the sale of the property be split? Should we each keep a running total of our overpayments and distribute those same amounts accordingly from the profits, with the remainder 40/60? Is there a more straightforward way of doing this - are we just making things more confusing doing it this way?! We each want the other to be happy with the final arrangement.

My agency's handyman installed a water pump in a cupboard in my bedroom to fix a problem with the hotwater. But the pump is ridiculously loud every time anyone uses hotwater r flushes a toilet. Its not really the landlords fault as he just provided the money to buy the pump under the advice of the handyman. When i asked for the pump to be removed (and for them toi install an electric shower) the real estate said that the landlord refused as he just paid for the pump. Who can i complain to? There must be regulations as to noise controls - especially in bedrooms?

I had always heard, "Yes they can," but now I am wondering if this is true!! Here's the history behind this question: I recently received a small inherritance, and put about $20,000 of it toward paying off his bad debts in collection in hopes that we could obtain a mortgage for a rental property together. This has always been my dream. However, he still has no credit while I have moderate to good credit, and all the mortgage companies we have talked to won't consider putting him on the mortgage. So I feel like spending all that money was worthless. I should have used it for a down payment on rental property. Now we are facing a $9000 bill from his knee surgery. What is the point of paying this???? If it goes on his credit and he just isn't interested in paying it off?? Will it effect me or my credit or possessions (I own a house). We live in a community property state so by marriage he owns the house too, but really I am the only one on the mortgage.

I am looking to buy a home but the only way I can afford it is to have a family member basically go in "halves" with me. I have spoken with numerous agents but all they want to do is sell me house. They give me no info on how to go about owning a home with someone else. I don't have much of a down and my family member would provide a healthy down so I can have mortgage payments that I can afford. Should I decide to sell, they would get their investment back. How do I go about this? Who do I contact? The only info I have found on the web relates to vacation and second homes. I would be a first time buyer. HELP!

Ok so I'm thinking of purchasing a home. I'm new to this whole home buying process and had a few questions. First of all do you have to pay a down payment on the loan? Because I have money now but home and new job is out of state. So by the time I get there I don't really know if I would have enough for down payment or closing costs. So are there any loans that would take care of down payment and closing costs for you or do you have to pay something up front? Also they keep asking me if I want to take an interest only loan. Is that good thing or bad thing?

Should I disclose that i'm just going to be starting a new job? I know I will have the money by the time the payment is due but do you have to disclose employment or income information? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Due to my husband being involved in an armed raid at his place of work, he has been off work for almost 6 months,we are now on income support. I applied for a rent rebate in January but the council failed to mention that the system would not be working for a month whilst they updated it, I complained that they had delibertley failed to notify me of this. The system was supposed to be up and running as of last Monday, apparently it only worked for half an hour ans since then has failed to function. My rent is due again this Friday but they have no idea when this will be resolved. I paid my rent in full last month which left me so broke I had to apply for a Crisis Loan. All I get when I call is that they have no idea when things will be working proberly. I am starting to wonder if this is deliberate due to it being the end of the financial year and I am so frustrated that this is putting unessecary strain on myself and my family but they just don't give a fig.

I've been working over the last 2 years to raise my FICO score which has gone from 420 to 623.

In fact, my current scores are 600 (TU), 623 (EQ), and 683 (EX).

I still have some open collections on my credit report that I'm trying to get cleaned up. However, I'd really like to move into a home soon.

Any tips would be appreciated.

What would you say are the top five things about a Real Estate Agent or office, that would make you choose them? Where would you look for an agent (if you don't have a personal connection)?
