Just down the roar from my house 45 new houses have just been 'slung' up, Prices range from £367,000. to £450,000, wages in our rural area £20,000 to £22,000. which means youngsters don't stand a cat in hells chance of being able to afford a house, who are the lunatics fixing prices this high, and no, it's not demand in my book it's profit! opinions most welcome

My mother is in financial difficulties and it is unlikely she will be able to maintain a mortgage on a 6 bedroom house with a large garden in a good area in north london, that is rundown, with damp problems, bits coming apart. She need to sell it off, pay off the mortgage then down size and have money left over as a pension. A conservative estimate would be half mil for house, she still has 250,000 in mortgage, which actually doesn't leave her much, in terms of buying a flat and living in london.
The question is, in order to maximise the amount she gets (every penny helps as she does not have other income)
Should we get rid of the house as it is, should we borrow somemore from the mortgage to do some careful renovation and sell it on, although structurally, this maybe more hassle, or should we get planning permission for flats, then sell on with this, as it is in an area that is increasingly been developed into flat? Comments from estate agents/developers welcome!

my landlord charges a late fee of $25 if rent is payed past the first. now he is refusing to give me my security deposit because my late fee balance outweighs the amount of the original deposit.

i was never notified that i owed any kind of late fee or that such a late fee was taken out of my next months rent (making that one short). also, i paid $2.50 more than the actual rent due every month by mistake.

does he have to notify me of such things? also... my security depoist was $362.50 and he claims i payed the rent late 9 times. to me that is only $225.00. can he charge interest for this b/c i didn't pay the late fees?? (even though he never notified me their was one due) also... can he pocket the $2.50 more i paid every month in error without ever notifiying me that i paid more than i owed??

I want to evaluate/analyze real estate brokers in the Waukegan, IL, and/or Lake County, IL area to select which one presents the best opportunity to sell my house as soon as possible. I would prefer an independent source that offers sales statistics by real estate broker/agent in my market area (described above).

When I was 19 years old I managed to get a job as an assistant to a mortgage loan consultant.

When I got the job (through strong persuasion and by carrying myself well) I felt on-top of the world. At the age of 19 I was making $32,000/yr and that was pretty good I thought. At first I felt a strong sense of respect from my boss. But now, he just treats me like ****, our incompetent processor realized that every time she screws up she can easily blame me and does so. Even when I prove my case…I don’t get an “I’m sorry” after receiving very very insulting emails like; “I work sooo hard to build my reputation and I’m not going to let anyone, including you, ruin it.”

The funny thing is that he wants me to work for him for at least 3 years. I mean I go out of my way for him and he knows it. I sometimes work on Saturdays (and I don’t get paid because I’m salaried) and many times come in early or even leave very late to help him with his loans.

This property is a Notice of Default. This is the initial document filed by an attorney or trustee on behalf of the foreclosing lender that starts the foreclosure process. The estimated loan balance is $12196. Does this mean the house is for sale for the amount it shows.

I rent an apartment and I cannot get hold of my landlord her phone number has been disconnected and a couple days ago someone came and took the dumpster from out back so now i don't have anywhere to put my trash. There are 3 other people who live in the building. No one else can contact her. I want to turn her in because I think the dumpster was removed because she didn't pay the bill. If i have to pay for trash removal can I take it out of my rent? Who would I contact to complain about her?

I have neighbor who cooks the most annoying food, all the time, and lets his charcoals burn unattended. I've notified my apartment management company, but they really suck, and said we can pay to move to a different apartment.

I have put in a few maintance requests that have never been answered. We had mould growing in our bathroom and ended up having to fix it ourself cause we couldnt wait and just leave it. The caulking around our tub is stripping and mildew is growing in there and it smells do they need to fix that? And now the power is out in our basement and no one has come after 4 days. Is that too long? We cant really move right now cause though because the rental market has gone crazy and there is no place at a decent price.
