Can anyone tell me, aproximately, what it would cost to have a new house built? I'm looking at around 1200-1500 sq. ft., 3 bd/2bath. Simple, nothing real fancy. I'm in rural Oklahoma.

I moved away froom this area after the hurricane & am finding places to rent online but as soon as I call on the reasonable ones they're already rented. I really don't want an apt since we have a dog & have done that for the last year. We're staying with family until we find a place but don't want to do that too long.

I am buying a condo in a new development and paying cash for it. I understand that mortgage lenders require title insurance, but that isn't an issue here. I understand that the insurance is there for peace of mind to protect the large investment, but I don't understand what the risk is, especially since the other 110 new condo owners in the building are likely going to purchase title insurance at the requirement of their lender. The Title Insurance company wants to charge $820 for ALTA Owners Standard Coverage.

My renter has informed me he wants to be paid for the work he has done to the house he is renting from me. This is the first I have heard of this, and of course I have never given any approval for him to do any work for me. So I don't think I owe him anything, right? Also I have a policy of not having my renter do any kind of work for me.

Do you need to take a real estate license course again to be license somewhere when you already license in your own state? OR can you just go and take the state exam in that state to be licensed. this is for a sales license.

Have no money to put down. Own my own house now, but do not want to take HELOC loan to start. Property I'm looking at is located in WI. Strong university market, average turn time, etc. Cosmetic and minor rehab needed. Looking for low cost funding from WI, or contiguous states. CA, FL and TX lenders not acceptable. Properties in those markets are a joke. Can any professionals help?

There is a home on land that my company is possibly buying. I want to buy this home. I have never owned a home, as I was a horse trainer and traveled my early years. I am now 50 with 2 spinal fusions and work in an equine semen freezing lab. Are there any programs that might help me buy this home, though my income is low, my work record is top level. I have heard there were grants to help Natives get low interest loans for home ownership or to start a business, both of which are areas I need, and have the ability to handle. Well, any help would be great!

I've heard horror stories from people who've rented to cat owners. i.e cat urine, smell, changing carpet etc. I've got carpeted bedroom and hardwood floors in living room. Can cats do damage to hardwood floors? How can I protect myself from worse case scenario?

We close in two weeks and still haven't even been able to sell our present home. I would give up the money we have in it to this point, but don't want a court battle.
