Cost of building a House?

Can anyone tell me, aproximately, what it would cost to have a new house built? I'm looking at around 1200-1500 sq. ft., 3 bd/2bath. Simple, nothing real fancy. I'm in rural Oklahoma.

You can probably figure about $100 a square foot. This depends on a lot of factors though. Is it brick or wood siding? Will you need a septic tank or other waste system? Can you do a lot of the work yourself? You can save a lot by doing your own painting.
Get several estimates and be sure and check out your contractor if you are going to have it built.
