Okay, that probably sounds like a stupid question, but I read that the number of inquiries about your credit can affect your credit score. It said "This includes promotional inquiries such as solicitations." Since my credit card offers say I'm "pre-approved" based on my credit score, I'm assuming that means they have made inquiries.

So, anyway, thanks. :)

I received a card in the mail from 1 First National Card when I did not request it. I have not activated this card, I know that this company is a scam... My question is.. if I never activate my card, will they still be able to scam me? I have read reports of them withdrawing money from people's account when they never use the card. If I never activate it, will they still be able to do so?

I am thinking to sign up for a credit watch service. Any feedback on if it is worth it and which service is the best in this area would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I decided to check out my credit report via annualcreditreport.com because I haven't checked my report out in a couple of years. I took a look at Experian and saw "AT T"(I'm assuming it's AT&T) sent a $200 fee to collections in July, The only problem is that I've never had an account with AT&T. I then see that under my information there is an address and phone number listed that isn't mine.

I look up my name with the zip code from the report on www.whitepages.com and find someone with my exact name, including middle initial, living about 3 miles from the mystery address listed on my report, it isn't the exact same phone number or address though.

I disputed the phone number but when I tried to dispute the address online it wouldn't allow me. Should I call up the collection agency at all? Should I just send in the required paper work disputing the address, phone number, and collection item and hope that they fix it? It seems like someone just mixed up our names, but who knows

Was just wondering if anyone has used an online payday loan service, kind of really tight for cash, for like a week. Need to borrow but no credit card, need quick cash. Are they safe to use and if anyone has where are the best rates at????

I just got my credit report and I saw so many different credit checks that I didn't authorize ...mostly car dealerships and mortgage companies...I'm wondering if this is normal and if not, what can I do? I heard every time your credit is checked, it ruins your score....
I'm really worried, what should I do?

As we were talking I asked for the company to send me a letter stating my bill. They said they could only fax it, I thought that sounded weird. During the conversation I was repeatedly threated with legal ramifications and different people kept passing the phone with people being very rude. I finally hung up. These people called my mom, and the only way they could have gotten her number was because I applied for credit. Does this sound like fraud? I want to hire a lawyer to find out if these people are legit.

It seems I remember hearing of a type of foreclosure where you simply give your house back to the bank. I know it sounds crazy but I do know there are different types of forclosures. Also does it make a difference what bank the home is financed through and the fact that its a manufactured home.
I hope there's some loan officers out there that can offer some insight. thanks.

This is the first month that I'm not going to be able to pay off my credit card in full. There is going to be about $300 left on there after I pay off what I can. It says online that the 'Periodic Rate' is 0.03534%P, and that the 'Corresponding APR' is 12.90%. How much does this mean I will have to pay in interest next month when I pay off my card in full? Also, could you tell me how to figure this out on my own so that I can do it next time I can't pay off my card again?

I am trying to re-build my credit and would like to get a credit card where I can use in the meantime to to book hotels, rentals etc. Pre-paid cards are okay, but I have known some companies not accepting them. Is there also a company that can provide a individual with a card with so-so credit rating?
