I have a line of credit at a bank at about 16% APR. Can I transfer that balance to a credit card to get a lower APR, or even a 0% APR using a balance transfer offer? I have a credit score of 650 (which I have read on the internet is considered "very good").

I have about $16,000 in credit card debt at 16% APR. I'm going to use a balance transfer with no fee to a card with 0% for 12 months. Can I just do a similar transfer every 12 months to a different card (with similar terms) to keep getting the 0% rate? Does this affect my credit score? Any pitfalls or fine print details I haven't considered?

Is it possible to transfer money to a credit card and use it to buy something that costs more than my normal credit limit?

More details:
I have limited credit and the only credit card that I have is my student card I got back when I was a in freshman in college. It only has a 1400 dollar limit.
I need to buy an engine for my car but I don't have enough in my checking account to pay for it, so I need to use the card, but it costs more than the credit limit.

Thanks. sorry for the long question

I recently bought a laptop that was 1400 dollars. I picked the BML option. 90 days without interest offer. And I was wondering that if i only pay a thousand dollars of the total amount in the 90days. will the interest be only on the remaining 400 or on the initial total ? thanks for your help.

I know I'm going to get a lot of flack for this. So here goes. High interest rates are given to people with bad credit or no credit. Or not enough credit. I understand the risk with bad credit. Why such high rates with the no credit or not enough credit? The banks shouldn't be surprised if some of these accounts result in default. People get into trouble when their interest rate is so high. Then they lose their cars and their houses. Doesn't it make more sense to give these people a lower interest rate to begin with? I realize it is a business and not a charity. If they are going to default. It doesn't matter what the interest rate is. A low interest rate is better than losing any profits from a repossession or foreclosure.

Having spoken to a representative at the cc company on several occasions, the late fee has been reversed and the account taken out of collections. However, the account balance is still wrong and doesn't reflect the August payment. The answer I receive is that they are investigating where the money went. First of all, if my payment was mistakenly applied to another customer's account, how exactly is that my problem? I made a payment, proven via a copy of my cancelled check yet they're investigating where the money went. When I heard this, things boiled over. I could care less WHERE the money went because all I know is where it DIDN'T go (toward my account) and where it isn't as of now (already withdrawn from my checking account). My answer to their having to investigate was, "I don't understand what there is to investigate. You have a copy of my cancelled check which proves I made the payment now just apply it! THEN figure out where it went." Can't wait to rid myself of this lousy card

My credit card payment is due today and it's labor day. First things first, I don't have a checking account so that won't help. I just have a saving account and a credit card account. Is there any way I can pay it by my saving account to avoid a late payment. Help me I'm such a loser for not taking care of business.

My bank is Bank of Amerina. My saving is around $300 and this month payment is only $90.

Anyways, is there any way I can like pay it today without going to the bank cause it's all close.

my credit card company was bought by bank of america, so now i have a bank of america card... I know it is bad to cancel a card or leave it inactive. Since i dont like bank of america, is it smart for me to transfer my card balance to Chase and keep my BOA card open and just use it once in a while. or should i just pay my BOA balance and use it less often. I would like to have a credit card to build my credit score but i dont want that card to be BOA. Any sugestions?

I called Macy's online to purchase a bed. The sales rep misunderstood me and thought I wanted to purchase the whole four piece set, which was 2300. She said she deleted the four piece and then charged my card the 900 for the bed. When I was checking my funds online, it still showed both charges to my card (although they were pending). What do I do to get my 2300 back?
