If the credit card company takes you to court and wins a judgment, they can attach your bank account, garnish your wages, and lein your property. Judgments are good for 10 years and can be renewed. So if you don't have it now, they'll just wait till you do.

Your credit report also takes another ding when the judgment is listed. Leins will also be listed.
