I've become a co-signer for $20000 student loan for my son, who's not a US citizen or permanent resident yet.
I have a perfect credit history and mortgage free properties. I'm planning to sell them off and move to California, buy property there. And I will need a big credit line.
Is being a co-signer decreases the amount I can borrow in the future? Thank you.

I am so confused! Im not very knowledgable about credit card intricacies, even though I have one..one with a substantial amount of debt on it.

My credit card APR has always been 17.15% and I usually make all of my payments right on time, but because of some unforseen problems last month I didnt make the payment on time. This months statement says that my APR is 32.24%. I am aware that you are charged a fee for late payment, which my account has been charged, but why would my APR be so high??

The payments went into arrears for a number of years before a collection agency came after me for the money. Now my credit rating has been negatively affected and no one at the cell phone company or credit agency can provide me with any information as to how to fix this.

I've just applied as a cosigner for my son's college loan. Will it affect my credit score and the amount I'd be eligible to borrow in the future mortgages and home equity loans? (I have a perfect credit history and some mortgage-free properties)

is a credit score still essential? in what sense? there are lot's of advertisments saying "0% APR and after that is 8.9% for bad credits." and then whenever i check my yahoomail there is always an ad that says, 'sour credit? sweet card." there are also cars, loans, credit cards, mortgages, refinance that requires no downpayment plus good APR rates. how essential are credit scores nowadays?

I have a Personal Loan for $5,000 which I used to pay off my Student Loan, and a credit card that I owe $5,500 on. (My limit is $5,800!) Is there any GOOD ways of consolidating this debt into one payment to get rid of one interest rate? I'm not usually struggling to pay my payments and I can't see paying rather high interest rates on BOTH of these loans. Any words of wisdom?

My husband applied for a payday loan online. First a lady named Nikki from Delacom called to verify information. She asked him if he still wanted the loan and he said yes. They deposited the money....blah, blah, blah. Now a lady from AIP named Margie is calling about the loan. He told her he received it through Delacom and was told that it is through AIP now. Well we are going to pay off the loan this Friday, but he asked her why didn't he receive the loan documents and she told him that he didn't need them. I thought they had to give you the loan documents for it to be legal. Now I'm worried that they are going to take out whatever they want for as long as they want because he doesn't have the loan docs. Can they do that??

o.k i have a total debt of $5500 in all my credit cards! o.k, but sometimes i cannot keep up with all the payments beacuse it's difficult since all the due dates are in different dates! and it would be easier to make just 1 easy payment, if I get a loan of $5500, and pay all my cards! + cancel the accounts

is it a good idea?

and i would like to know if those tyoe of loans lower your credit score?

any advice? thanks

I am wondering what peoples experiences are. I have about $25,000 in credit card debt and around $30,000 in student loans. The credit cards are surprisingly well under my limit. I would be interested in consolidating the credit card debt especially, as it seems those are going to last forever. Any advice?
