The hospital itself can't report you to an agency, but if they turn over the account to a collection agency they can and will.

Yes, I had the hospital send my bill to a collection agency once because I was not paying enough every month.

Hospitals normally turn delinquent accounts over to collection companies and they report you to the credit bureaus.
Medical collections are the most reported items I see on a daily basis looking at credit.

Yes - and they are slow to correct any error in that reporting as well. If you are late in payment and make arrangements get it in writing and keep a good record. Once it is paid off report the completed payment to all the credit agencies or it will adversely effect your credit rating.

They will generally send them to collections. It will be the collection agency that will report the delinquency to the bureaus.
