I know it wouldn't happen automatically, but what I'm asking is that if the debtor requested them to, would they?

It's possible, the only way to know is to call and ask.

the company may tell you that they will, but most times it is only so that you will pay the bill. They then will refuse to reopen the account and when you question it they will explain that after reviewing the account they decided not to reopen.
Creditors can do pretty much what they want in this regard.

Good Luck.

Most likely no because you showed yourself as a credit risk, and it is already on your FICO score, and will remain there for 7 years, although annotated as satisfied. Call them and ask
