recently i have been applying for personal loans and being rejected. i came to know that a bank with which i am holding a credit card has listed my name in the black list even though i am making minimum payment every month. i have exceeded the limit some time back, might have missed two or three payments, paying half of the minimum stated payment regularly. what is the solution

Call the co. that you owe the debt, if you can come up with the money, and ask if they will settle the debt with you for a lower payoff. But remember you do owe what you owe, sometimes though they would rather remove late charges, extra interest and settle for the original owed amount. Then, make sure this request is done in writing, even though you may discuss on the phone, ask them to send you a letter stating the agreement terms, pay it then get a paid receipt. Send copies to the credit bureaus and they will be able to mark it paid/settled.

Stop applying for all sorts of loans, every time you apply you get 7 points minimum taken off your credit score. Wait at least 3 months and apply at Orchard and pay the $89.00 annual fee to get started with new credit, or HSBC also has a "bad credit-No Credit", card for an annual fee. Only choose 1! Then only charge up to 30% on the card of its' credit line. The credit bureaus give you points for paying on time and minimal usage. The magic number is 30% of the line available to you. Ex. $300.00 credit line on card, X 30% = 90.00, so never use more than that on the card. Then after about 6 months of paying on time they will probably raise the credit line, but don't fall into the trap still just use 30% and you will have increased your score soon. If they won't give you a card there are other options, you can buy a prepaid card and use it the same way....yes they do report to the bureaus too. GOOD LUCK! :>)

Simple pay on time and get the balance below you limit, if you even still have a limit.

If you can speak with the rep. for that credit card and remind them of your pretty regular payments they are the only ones that can do it. Also if you are trying for a new loan speak directly to them and they will work around your explanation of how this happened. At one time it worked for me.

The only way to do that is to pay on time, and by your own admission you haven't done that. Missing "two or three" payments is a bigger deal than you may think it is.

Make your payments. On time and pay at least the minimum amount. You are on the list because you arent doing those things.

Start paying your full minimum or more. Get the balance down. For more solutions go to: http://www.your-credit-solution.com/debtsolutions.htm .
