I called Macy's online to purchase a bed. The sales rep misunderstood me and thought I wanted to purchase the whole four piece set, which was 2300. She said she deleted the four piece and then charged my card the 900 for the bed. When I was checking my funds online, it still showed both charges to my card (although they were pending). What do I do to get my 2300 back?

I would but it is labor day tommorow. That might screw up things.

This is why you should not use those fake Visa MC piece of trash debit cards. Because if any mistake is made, your very real money in your checking account is gone. Yes, you will "eventually" get it back, but only after you notice, and only after you may have bounced a bunch of checks and gone without being able to make an ATM withdrawal.

Same thing if you purchase gas with them. All of a sudden, $75 - $100 gets frozen, until the transaction is fully completed.

Yes, resolve it with the store, but also let your bank know that the store made a mistake, so they can maybe make some arrangements so you don't start bouncing checks all over town, with the overdraft fees that go along with it.

Do yourself a favor next time and use a real MC or Visa. Then if a mistake is made, you just dispute it on your bill, and no money ever leaves your hands until it's resolved.

Charges take 60seconds to show up. Credits take 2 days. I am a merchant and there is NOTHING I can ever do for my clients. Very frustrating. Check back and if it is still there in 48-72 BUSINESS hours(with holiday you are looking at Thursday) call them back. Macy's does not do business in the shady fashion you are fearing. I am sure it will all turn out fine for you. Just a pain in the &$$ having to wait...

First, wait to see if the charges are corrected. It takes time for the online information to register recent transactions. If the correct info is not displayed online in a couple of days, call the company to inform them again about charges. If that doesn't work, you can go to your bank, and explain the situation. In most cases, the bank will side with you, and cancel the debit transaction.

call your bank immediately and dispute the charge. Tell them it is unauthorized. Put it in writing too. Call the store and do the same thing. in writing. but be polite about it all. don't accuse anyone of ripping u off. treat it like a mistake. Don't get all excited.
