I obtained a loan from CashCall, Inc in November of 2005. Unfortunately I have fell upon hard times and have been unable to make the minimum payment. I currently owe principal of $9,600 approximately, but they threatened to sue for $38,000 which would include the finance charges if I had paid it off over 10 years as expressed in the contract. Is it possible to sue for these finance charges??? I'm located in California.

I owe citibank 13k, i just received another letter that they are going to take action, a judgement was already made. I have a debt collector involved, but i want to go straight to the lawyers who are assisting with the debt. I can give them a couple of thousand for a downpayment and then make monthly payments. I am afraid of having my bank accounts garnished or paycheck. I live pay c heck to paycheck. The debt company has done very little to help me and I know they want a commission.

I just figure the more credit the better. Does a higher credit limit increase your credit score? I don't plan on ever using all of it, but I want it to be available to me.

And if my credit limit is higher, doesn't it make the amount I owe seem smaller, so my credit score will increase right?

I have 3 charge offs on my credit report, the debt just under $1500 total and over 5 years old and from what I gather the statue of limitation has expired on them (is that the right wording?) but I heard from a collection agency about twice a year ago after I got a credit card.

How would I go about to remove these mistakes from my credit report? Do I try to contact these collection agencies and make an offer to pay a % or do I dispute them with the credit bureaus? I have zero paperwork from the creditors so I have no idea if what the collection agencies claim I owe is even correct. Also I found out that one creditor went bankrupt and sold all their debt to a collection agency. Years ago I just stopped recieving statements from them. I'm not really sure what to do. I would like to buy a new car but want to raise my credit score somewhat before I do.

Also if someone could recommend a site where they explain how to dispute step-by-step for dummies like me I would be greatful!!

When I filled out the info, it asked me which company did I want to get my credit report from. And gave the option to pick them all. But it only did it through equifax?

So is there a way to get it from all 3 or just 1?

ok, i just bought my credit scores, and i think it sucks that i have to pay to find it out, but two different sites said 840 & 834. thats good right? like i shouldnt have much of a problem getting a good mortgage loan right? my REAL question is, my bf has BAD credit, but he is the one that makes a lot more money than i do. almost double. so if we applied for a loan, would they be more interested in my good credit and his paycheck, or his bad credit and my little paycheck?

I have really good credit. My fiance made some really bad decisions in the past and has terrible credit. (credit cards, overdrawn bank account car loan .....) We are buying a home . We are planning on getting married next year. I am wondering would it be better for him to consolidate his bills and us try to pay them off or should he just file banktruptcy? We plan on doing something before we get married. We dont have any savings and I have a child and he has three from a previous marriage that he pays support for. My concern about debtconsolidation is that we wont be able to make the payments with everything else we are having to take care of. How bad is a debt consolidation or bankruptcy going to look when we do tie the knot if I have really good credit. Also what kind of affect does that have if any on employment?

I sold an item on Ebay for £316 + £212 tracked post/packing to a buyer in Australia & was paid by Paypal. The buyers paypal account in 'Un verified' & the payment states that I am not covered by Paypal seller protection policy. I asked the buyer to use some other method of payment to cover myself. Over 10 days later the buyer claims that his account is now verified tho I have no proof of this and has sent a further payment of another £528 and again the payment says unverified & paypal seller protection is not available. This smacks of a scam somewhere.... I've now got over a grand from this person & I have spoken to Paypal for advice, They think its dodgy but in true Paypal fashion say.... its up to you what you do....If I refund the buyer both payments & tell him to forget the deal then somewhere down the line it comes to light that his original payments were false & Paypal reclaim them from my account then that leaves me over a £1000 out of pocket.... is this the scam????

But is threatening to take me to court if I don't pay him three thousand dollars--twice what I owe the co. he is collecting for.

When I started my first job at 16, I worked for a retail department store. In order to recieve the store discount I needed a credit card. Without knowing, I signed the form and a card was sent to me with a credit limit of 1,400 dollars. Now, I'm 19 and owe over a thousand on it. Without an adult signature on the contract do I legally need to pay this or is what they did illegal?

I'm looking at renting and going back to school and this card is now charged off and is messing up my credit report.

Thanks!

The card was from Bank of America and the orginal amount I owed was $700.00. I know that over the years I have paid the $700.00 dollars back and then some, but with the interest I am not able to keep up with it or pay it off. I am wondering how can I settle on this account because the debit is 3,000 dollars now and with some outside collection agency. I made an agreement with them to pay $200.00 dollars for 3 months because they were threating to take me to court, although I knew that I probably could not make all the payments. I made two and third did not clear my account.

Now the agent is harrasing me again. Being very rude and I would like to just settle for an amount less then 3,000. I was thinking of taking 1200.00 dollars from my 40k plan and asking them to settle the debit with that. They are so rude and mean and I have no experince with this so I don't know how to go about this. Please help I really don't want to go to court, have my wages garnished or pay a lawyer

I've had a late Credit Card Payment last summer and I was going through my report today and saw it sits in the "adverse account" section of the report? How long will it be there? It was late that 1 time only and has remained current since. Why is it not with the accounts in good standing and how long will it remain in adverse?

I called several times to cancel the newspaper subscription but they ignored my calls and kept on delivering the paper and billing me. Finally I got up at 3 a. m. one morning and yelled at the carrier to stop throwing the paper at my door, which is when it stopped. They have been billing me ever since. I haven't paid, because of their ignoring my requests to cancel. Can they ruin my credit if i don't pay?
