I had a credit card over 2 years ago. I lost my job, so I called them and made a deal (yes it was in writing) about my payments. They did not hold up their end of the deal, ended up charging off my card, and then turned me over to a collection agency for the remaining balance. Last January (2006) was the last time they reported a negative on my credit report and they turned me over to collections. I look today (3/17/2007) and within the past 2 weeks, they have entered negative reportings since the last one up to now. Is this even legal? They didn't report for over a year, sent me to collections, charged-off the account, and now reporting me negative? I know that the last negative (Jan. 2006) will stay on there for 7 years, but the rest after that should be taken off right? I have had no communication with them since they sent me to collections. I entered a dispute through the credit reporting today. My credit report went down over 80 points because of this. Help!

This is actually becoming very serious. I am receiving up to 13 automated telephone calls from a credit card collection agency and it is driiving us round the bend. They ask if your date of birth is any of the 4 that they mention. Now, none of the 4 is me! So I could not respond even if I was one of the 4 birth dates!

I visited one website today that stated that even more than 2 calls a day can be classed as harassment and you could take the agency to court.

Any advice?
Cheers

This debt collector has been calling for weeks demanding full payment on a credit debt I havent been able to pay for a year. My husband has been out of work, and his unemployment ran out. They call daily leaving messages, and have hounded neighbors looking for me and called my mom and were pretty nasty to her.
This debt is mine there was no cosigner. I cant sleep at night and every time I try to talk to these people they demand full payment of 4000 dollars. They are rude and quite mean to me.
I dont want to talk to these people any more. I can send them a small payment .Should I do that and just send a couple small payments a month? How can I get them to stop. I dont have thousands of dollars. They nearly demanded I open an unused line of credit to pay them. But i wouldnt be able to pay high interest on that.Hopefully my husband will find a job soon.I feel bullied and I cry nearly every day. Please help.

Making a Credit Card is tough coz they need your annual income to at least $30k.

For lower wages workers like me , a Debit Card is the most suitable ones.

A blonde walks into a bank in New York City and asks for the Loan officer.

She says she's going to Europe on business for two weeks and needs to borrow $5,000.

The bank officer says the bank will need some kind Of security for the loan, so the blonde hands over the keys to a new Mercedes Benz SL 500.

The car is parked on the street in front of the bank, she has the title and everything checks out. The bank agrees to accept the car collateral for the loan.

The bank's president and its officers all enjoy a good laugh at The blond for using a $110,000 Benz as collateral against a $5,000 loan.

An employee of the bank then proceeds to drive the Benz into the bank's underground garage and parks it there. Two weeks later, the blonde returns, repays the $5,000 and the interest, which comes to $15.41.

The loan officer says, "Miss, we are very happy to have had your business, and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled.

For some reason, I have been having problems with my check card today. I tried to order something for $30 by phone and was told my card was declined. I am no where near my daily spending limit and have enough money in the bank. I called the bank and they said they didn't understand why it was declined because funds were available so they blamed it on the vendors terminal. Well, I told the lady to try again and it worked. Well, I just got back from walmart and my card was declined again. The charge was small $34.75 and this is the only other thing I tried to charge today. I just ended up paying cash. The receipt said "payment declined - reason 05". What does that mean? My bank is closed until Monday so I guess I won't be able to use my card until I find out the problem.

Obviously you pay off a credit card bill with a check or using bill pay through your bank. I have a credit card account through Wells Fargo, and I notice that when I choose to transfer money from my checking account to one of my other Wells Fargo accounts, I can transfer it to my savings as well as my credit card account. What happens when I transfer money to my credit card account? I did not know you can do such a thing. Is that for stashing cash away so I have money come bill paying time?

This past week I found myself the victim of a scam artist who used my debit card information obtained illegally to empty my bank accounts. Before we caught it my finances were completely messed up.

I was lucky; with diligent effort we caught the **)**&^%$# so and so and he is now in jail. I would like to let the world know about this guy in case anyone ever comes into contact with him they will no he is a con artist and not give him any information. But, I don't know the best way to do it. Is anyone familiar with the blogsphere ... would that be a good way to get the word out? Any help would be nice as I am a pretty nice person, and this guy is a REAL BAD person.
:-)
thanks
