I have very poor credit but my husband has a good one. If he applies for mortgage, will he need to declare my credit? I was hoping that we can use his to buy our first house.

have been currently approved with builder. Still going through process to finalize. I have been given a 80/20 on my 137k loan for my first home. they have given me 80@6.5% and 20@8.5% on a fixed 30yr loan. I have a laptop im paying off (about $1800 left to pay) and a bmw i'm paying off (about 55x808.72/mo). I can handle payments, but wondering if I'm getting screwed with my home loan. I checked on myfico.com and my credit score is 714 and I fall in the texas home loan at 5.966%. Is my laptop and bmw the reason i got a higher interest rate? and if so how can i improve the home loan situation so as not to pay $1110/month on new home but less than that. Any ideas/suggestions/recommnedations would be greatly appreciated. I'm currently 24 years old. Thnx in advance!

Cause after I used my debit card at Target, the reciept said "Good news Kristine! You are pre-approved for a Target Visa" and went on to say that if I was at least 18 and could prove my identity, that I was approved for a Target Visa.

This suprised me cause the last time I checked my credit it was pretty crappy, so I was wondering a) if they checked my credit with info from my debit card and b) do they often give out cards to people with low credit scores?

Anyone else had an experience with this??

I decided to go to medical school and ended up borrowing $150,000 and all were private student loans. I borrowed $70,000 before I got married. All the loans are in my name and no one else signed for them. I also have $45,000 in credit card debt all in my name and she was never added to any of the accounts. I am not working, but studying to pass my medical exams. The private student loan creditors are requesting payment now, which of course I can't send them. My wife is paying off my credit card debt and she still hopes to save our credit. If it gets to the point of a lawsuit and they win can the private student loan company garnish any of my wife's wages? How about if we get a divorce will that prevent them from garnishing her wages? Property? Cars? I am living in Florida. Any input is appreciated.

I have a Bank of America Gold (Visa) Credit Card. I've had it a long time ago...it started as a secured card and it has been a regular credit card for probably about a year and a half or so now. Great payment history with them and my credit score is roughly 749. Well...I checked recently and they've "added" a credit card to my account without asking me. It's a "WorldPoints Platinum Plus Visa" card. The logical thing I thought to do was check on their website to find out what the credit card is...because it sounds like one of those "travel rewards" cards. But I couldn't find one on their site with that name...I thought it was odd. They just 'opened' it without asking me...I have enough credit cards and my credit is pretty good, so I didn't need this. I know the thing to do is call them Monday morning and ask them why it's there and why they opened it without asking me. This could affect my credit score oddly. Any idea what this card actually IS, and isn't this illegal for them to do?

I have a credit score of exactly 619 after looking at a consolidated report from all 3 bureaus, I understand that most credit cards require a score of 625 for you to apply so I dont apply by just a hairline. I know this because I was already declined for a credit card and made a small research to see what my score was and why I was declined.

However I need a credit card ASAP, its either that or a small loan and I dont want to go for a loan.

Are there any credit cards that aprove lower than 625 scores? Or is there a way to get this score up by the end of the month?

What are the typical credit score numbers that I need for:

1. A Discover card?
2. A low end or classic Visa card?
3. A year or 6 months "same as cash" offer at Best Buy or Circuit City?

Do you know a website that shows these scores with the types of credit that can be attained?

Thanks.

I am soon moving to my first apartment and I need to buy furniture to fill the place. I decided to check my credit report online, since I will need it for both things. It shows up as excellent.

However I went to Rooms To Go website and applied for credit online and they declined my application?!

I checked again with a different credit report agency to make sure everything was fine and it still shows as excellent credit. This credit was established by paying a student loan for almost 5 years and counting. I don't have any credit cards but have a quiet high yearly income.

Anyone has an idea why would my credit be declined and if so what I can do to fix the problem?

My Girlfriend is trying to build her credit. She is timely with her payments on her credit card, cell phone, utilities, etc. meanwhile she has maintined 2 open lines of credit that havent been touched.

Basicly, I talked her into us buying a flat panel television and she applied for a major electronics store card and was accepted for $900. (I'm paying the difference in cash)

While doing my part of consumer homework I found that the store she applied to has rather higher prices than another with a better selection and a 18 month interest free period when you buy a television like the one we want.

My question is... Should she keep the card she applied for as an open line of credit and apply for one at the other store? or should she cancel the card she is getting before or after she applies at the other store.

Being in a financial relatsionship with somone who defaults on payments damages your score, does being in a financial relatsionship with somone with a good score improve yours?
Will it still damage theirs if you don't do anything wrong after you enter the financial relatsionship, but your record was poor to start with?

There was a disputed $74 item on my credit report from back in 2001. It was removed and now it is showing back on my credit report again. It has greatly reduced my score. I worked very hard to bring my score up.

I am disputing it through experian, again. Are collection agencies alowed to remove an item and then put it back in for collections, after it was disputed? And what can I do to have it removed?

Also, is there anyway to remove credit inquiries from companies I didn't get approved from my report to help bring my score back up a bit?

I'm wondering if it is difficult to get approved for a loan with my FICO score of 635. I have a high interest credit card and I want to pay it off or transfer the balance, but I don't want to apply and get denied because I've heard it's bad to apply too many times...it counts against you supposedly??? Any ideas?
Thanks!
