For some reason, I have been having problems with my check card today. I tried to order something for $30 by phone and was told my card was declined. I am no where near my daily spending limit and have enough money in the bank. I called the bank and they said they didn't understand why it was declined because funds were available so they blamed it on the vendors terminal. Well, I told the lady to try again and it worked. Well, I just got back from walmart and my card was declined again. The charge was small $34.75 and this is the only other thing I tried to charge today. I just ended up paying cash. The receipt said "payment declined - reason 05". What does that mean? My bank is closed until Monday so I guess I won't be able to use my card until I find out the problem.

Since it was declined by two different venders, please check with your bank on monday and ask for a new account.
An "05" decline is one issued by your card holder.

I found this works. If allowed. Go to your bank atm (Located at the branch or main office) Change your pin. Then check your balance with your new pin. If you can't just-check your balance. Then wait a couple of days and try it again. Now, if the atm machine eats the card go into the bank and tell them that.

I don't use my main account to pay at the pump, order online or by phone or at the Jcpenny catalog order desk.

If the merchant does not merge the transaction correctly. It will look like a double purchase on your account and the extra hold will be remove in about 7 to 14 business days.

You could have a hold from paying at a pump. They can hold $100 or more. Those will clear in about 3 business days.

A check card is not a Credit card. Money comes from your checking account .

Welcome to the age of technology! These things happen from time to time and no one ever admits fault. I've called about different codes and found that even the customer service people don't know what they mean over 1/2 the time.

When the person at the bank said she didn't understand, she was telling the truth. The good news is that these things tend to correct themselves pretty quickly.

I had my ATM card declined at a store despite the fact that I had the funds and the bank reported that there was no problem. I was embarrassed and tried to write a check. The check was declined as STOLEN?!?! It turned out to be the same account number as someone else's, but at a different bank.

Are you sure it was being processed as a check card and not a credit card ?

If you are on good terms with a store operator you could ask them to phone for an authorization and find out why your card was not taken.

Or wait till monday and speak to your bank .

it is unusual problem. I supply pizza area time in Indiana and that i've got on no account heard of this. regularly once you telephone in an order with your credit card, you do no longer communicate the top. whilst the driving force brings your pizza he/she might have a slip so which you will sign with an area so which you will jot down interior the top. whilst the driving force gets back to the shop he adjusts the transaction to mirror the top. not one of the pizza places I even have worked at have taken practise over the telephone. the only time that I ever see a tip merely before time is with information superhighway orders. whilst a guy or woman places an order on line they flow forward and enter their tip volume at checkout. This seems strange because of the fact the top comes until now any provider has been rendered, inspite of the undeniable fact that it rather is extremely person-friendly. subsequently the driving force can see his tip whilst he prints your receipt previous to transport. The drivers won't be in a position to be sure you tip until they look on the run, so as that they are in a position to't %. and choose from runs in line with practise. inspite of the undeniable fact that, a driving force might look at 2 or 3 orders on an identical time. he could be tempted to take the greater effective tip order first. I attempt to no longer that. With information superhighway orders there is not any place on the receipt to jot down in a tip, so in case you pick to tip the driving force in my view it desires to be funds. i might call and communicate to the administrative. Ask if it rather is someone-friendly prepare. worker turnover at pizza places is extremely severe so it ought to have merely been a clean (at a loss for words) worker. I agree that it would be impolite to ask you techniques plenty tip you pick to go away. BTW, I even have on no account seen or heard of every physique spitting or messing with every physique's pizza. i'm particular its happended yet no longer in my journey. Drivers do bear in recommendations sturdy tippers although and that they have got an inclination to take their orders first.

One good reason to why your credit card was decline is someone probably stole your credit card information and used it for their own good. I would check your credit score and look for some kind of suspicious activities.

I have found a button on the source. It leads to a site that does not turn anyone down for a credit card and no credit checks. The site is great for other resources.

How old is your card? Has it been used a lot? sometimes the magnetic strip wears out. That happened to me.
