Yes there is a Salute Visa (in the U.S.)
From what I can tell they may be affiliated with Aspire (or whats left of Aspire - sub, subprime)

It may be possible that you have received an offer from Salute Visa for Urban Trust Bank (?)
If so, it is legit. That card may come with extremely high fees and interest or no fees but still high interest.

If it is for the Urban Trust card, you might read the link that talks about the bank. It's a new bank opened in DC by Robert L. Johnson (former owner of BET)
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/09/25/AR2006092501315.html

edited to add: They have been calling and mailing people about the card. Many times giving them an address to their site to sign up.
If they call and you are interested but still have reservations about it, request that they mail you the application.

Yes, there is. Although I never received a call from them, I did receive an application in the mail. I did some research on the web, and they are indeed affiliated through Urban Trust Bank. You can find out more about the Salute Visa at: www.MySaluteCard.com
The website is for cardholders and fully active. Hope this helps!

I don't think so, i applied online for the card like to weeks ago and the mail me a letter requesting to send a copy of a utility bill and my drivers license to a po box in jersey. I did that and have not received the ccard. I went to the website but it was taken offline so i check the domain and is register to a company in the british west indies.Their add is Po Box 58 the Valley British West Indies Anguila if anybody went through the same thing i will like to know since i will file a complaint with the FBI.Also will check with Interpol to see if they have received any type of complaint.

I think it is a scam. I was foolish enough to apply but they did not ask for any bank info. My credit is very bad so they will be very upset if they try to use my name and social for credit. They will be denied. It has been 10 days since I've applied and I have not heard anything from them. At the time I applied they had a website where I applied. I see now that the website no longer exists. Again, it is a scam.

Why would a Visa card be calling you asking for info? that's weird and I sure wouldn't give anyone info over the phone that called me.

There is a Salute Visa from some bank in Hong Kong. Are you in Hong Kong?
