This is actually becoming very serious. I am receiving up to 13 automated telephone calls from a credit card collection agency and it is driiving us round the bend. They ask if your date of birth is any of the 4 that they mention. Now, none of the 4 is me! So I could not respond even if I was one of the 4 birth dates!

I visited one website today that stated that even more than 2 calls a day can be classed as harassment and you could take the agency to court.

Any advice?
Cheers

Have you thought about getting an unlisted phone number?

I actually heard about a guy that spends his days suing people like this. Now they rarely go to court because the case gets settled but he makes big bucks. They call. He respectfully asked them not to call. Makes note of everytime they do while recording each call, for proof of course. After they call the second or third time, he mails them copies of the calls and logs and says he'll sue if they don't settle. lol i thought it was funny. Getting back at them! I'm not sure what else you could do but if you are a Jr. or 2nd this could happen. That's what happened to my husband. Maybe not the best advice you got but I tried! :)

First is to advise the caller that they've got the wrong person. Note down the time of call, ask the caller for his/her full name and contact details. Should they still call, take note again of the time. File a harrassment charge against the company. This way you'll nip them in the bud.

I'd advise that you get a copy of the incoming calls and take them to court for harrassment and maybe also record the call so you could show that the questions they ask arent for you.

You have to write them a letter and tell them to stop calling. They have to honor it by law. They can still send you things in the mail, but at least they wont call.

hang up immediately and eventually they will realize that it is not a good contact and they will notify you through the mail then just place about six of their letters in a envelope and mail back they will get the point

Change your phone number and make it silent.
