They robbed me of over $1000 for a $7000 loan. The $1000 was what they claimed a "security deposit." When I found out it was a scam it was too late...they had already picked up the money wired from western union....duh! like they're going to wait to get it, right? The two women that I spoke to went by the names of "Michelle Lindsey" and "Emily Sumn"... from "Walton's Financial Group" they claimed to have been reffered by cityfinancial. What cityfinancial cannot explain is how these people were able to get into their system and steal my information. CityFinancial was the only place I applied for a loan. So, the question is, how did they get my info?

One of my relatives who was living with us recently left the U.S. and went back to his country. I don't think he will ever return. But his credit card bills still arrive at my house. He is being charged like $200.00. I cannot contact him. And i don't want to make that payment. What should I do? And is there any way I can stop those letters from arriving at my house?

I found that my credit card company did not receive my payment until 3 days after it was due, even though I sent it 10 days prior to the due date. Is this something I can question? If so, I need help writing the letter. I need people who either deal with this stuff and can give me hints on how to be successfeul or those who have inquired with results. Thank You!

A friend of mine wants to use a credit card of mine to purchase an appliance he "needs." He promises (orally) repayment. However, what do I need to do (in writing and what-not) to get a better guarantee that this will be repaid. I do trust him. However, not when it comes to screwing up my credit. I cannot afford this. And we know how folks can be when it comes to paying someone back. Thanks.

When you have credit card debt and that bank sells your debt to another bank without informing you...I first question how can they sell your debt and personal information without notifying you? The buyer of my debt says, "we bought your debt and now we own it." I want to say so badly, “KEWL!! Then you pay it.” Don't I own my debt? How can my debt that I owe and own along with my personal information be sold to some stranger that I did not sign a contract with or agree to borrow the money from? How could I owe that company when I didn't borrow the money from them? If I do not own my debt and I get no say so in whom it's sold to then… isn't it fair to say that I don't owe it? Who ever bought it and now owns it, now owes it. Right?? How can you owe borrowed money to someone you didn't agree to borrow it from? Does anyone else agree with me on this?

I ruined my credit 5 years ago coming out of high school with credit card bills and store credit cards. I was somewhat paying the minimum on some of them and was defaulted on others. This year I realized that I will never be able to get my own house until i get that fixed. I paid them all off one by one with large sums (settlement). How long before my credit scores goes up? Am I pretty much doomed for the next 20 years?

I have some old credit card debt from my college days (probably going back 4 years) that I have started to receive collection notices for. I'm in a better financial situation now, by no means rich, but I would like to clear my name and not be handcuffed by my prior situation.

What's the best way for me to handle this? I got a letter offering a "one-time only" payment to a collection agency at about half off, which is very attractive, but I want to make sure that I'm both clearing my conscience and boosting my credit rating. If I can do that and pay less than I theoretically owe (considering most of it is probably finance charges), all the better.

For the record, I have a couple of open accounts that are perfectly clear. I've looked into it a little and the state I lived in when I opened the account has a six year statute of limitations.

Looking for solid advice as I'd like to buy a house in the next couple of years.

When does a bailiff arrive to remove ones goods ?. Is it AFTER one has been to court for non payment , recived a ccj and still not paid the debt. Or can they just arrive from the company chasing the debt and remove ones goods before a court appearance or summons has been sent from the courts. thanks.
